Why would anyone let a 91 year old with dementia go out alone to walk a dog? I hope that she is found and is safe.

Where were her caretakers and why was she allowed to walk outside unsupervised and why does she have a dog?
Whoever is responsible for her is ,in my opinion, not only guilty of neglect but of animal cruelty. How can a demented 91 year old women take care of a dog?
I really hope someone gets thrown in the slammer for this gross and disgusting example of brainless irresponsibility.

while many expressed concern for her safety - they also went on tangents about things that are none of their concern. There are different levels of dimentia and it's not your place to question why she was "allowed" to go out alone, or "allowed" to have a pet. As of this morning she and her beloved pet have been found safe.

I know! That is so frustrating. Unless, of course, police agencies didn't have a current photo.

Nonetheless, both the PiPress and the Strib run an emergency type story without a pic all the time. Sometimes, the local TV station websites will include a pic, but not all the time either.

Nonsense.

Lack of responsible care and over sight of a demented women as well as cruel lack of consern for a dependent helpless animal are reasonable causes for other community members to be conserned. Animals are not expendable toys to be used and thrown away or lost. And regardless of the differing levels of dementia this women may have suffered from it is the community that through it's taxes pays for search and rescue missions when the neglected and demented have to be found and cared for.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
