Taylorsville calls for alcohol referendum

Well lets see.

For one thing, I am a grown adult who, despite what some people may have been led to believe, is fully capable of making decisions for himself.

Second, if you are so concerned about alcohol related incidents, I suggest you move outside of Alexander county, since we have more illegal alcohol here than any of the surrounding counties (coincidence?? I don't think so). People who have to drive to Iredell, Catawba, or Wilkes county are more likely to drink more, and having to drive a longer distance to get home, will most likely run into one of our good old AC deputies, or if they're really lucky, a state trooper.

Third, being able to go somewhere LOCALLY would help the local economy, not that you care about that.

Since I don't really go out drinking anymore, the only reason I care about this upcoming referendum so much is because I do not appreciate a bunch of people who think they are on some higher moral plane telling me what I can and cannot do, and using flawed logic and scare tactics to sway other people into their camp. I strongly believe in freedom of choice and personal responsibility. If someone lacks the ability to make the proper decisions for themselves and their family, they probably should never have left home (as in mommy and daddy's basement) in the first place.

Well, you have to admit that people who have been making their own alcohol for years wouldn't appreciate a bunch of people coming in and LEGALLY taking all of their business away.

As I have said...currently, Taylorsville has no potential for economic growth, and if this passes, Taylorsville gains that potential.

Its about the economy, it's not about alcohol.
