Full story: NBC29 Charlottesville

Crews work to right the black Audi that overturned on Rt. 20 Friday morning. It was a scary drive to class for two Piedmont Virginia Community College students Friday morning.

Lucky they didn't hit anyone that was in the oncoming lane. Way too many drivers cut the corners and cross the double yellow line on this road and put others at risk. I bet that probably came into play on this.

Glad they are all OK. I saw the NBC 29 car at the scene and I had to turn around and head up Mill Creek to get into C'ville. I thought it may have been worse than it was. Thank God!

I'm not surprised at all by this. The damn kids that are late for classes at PVCC generally drive like little a**holes in the morning all the way up 20. The only thing worse is to be stuck behind a school bus going 20 mph under the speed limit with a PVCC student riding your butt. It can take close to an hour to travel 12 miles. I'm surprised these accidents don't happen every day...........

Why is everyone so angry? These are someone's children that have been in a car accident, nothing more, and nothing less. Do you live in glass houses? They were on their way to school and were obviously buckled in. To top it off, the driver was honest about the fact she over corrected. Mercy people why must everything be so negative? These are good kids. I thank God they were not hurt.

She may be a good kid but she's most certainly not a good driver! It's just a good thing the bad driver didn't hit anyone. The fact is I used to have to drive this road over 300 times a year, thank God I don't have to drive on it every day anymore! Too many "Good Kids" on that road.

Y'know....just b/c you repeat someone's fake handle, our locations are still different...nice attempt at trolling, but I was making a comment based on observations that I see and experience every day. Just like the 17-year-old that passed me on the double yellow on Rt. 20 the other night and almost hit an on-coming car. Again, I'm just not surprised...

Regardless of whether or not I have kids, I'd rather than die behind the wheel by anyone's kids who may be too immature to drive. If you're late, there's no sense in going fast around a corner. I would hate to be the parent of a child who accidentally kills someone because my child cannot drive. I'm glad in this instance that the kids are alright, but again, I'm not surprised. You see this behavior EVERY DAY on Rt. 20. It is one of the worst roads in Central Virginia.

Whoops, sorry. Typed too fast.
Previous post should be "I'd rather not die behind the wheel...." etc.

until it is a safe (less curves) four lane road (actual lanes to pass in), it will continue to be this wonderful joy.

I thought this site was to make comments in regard to the subject matter. I did not know it was a site to be critical of comments made by the commenter. This should be the exception not the norm.

What caused the need to "overcorrect" enough to roll a car - cell phone, texting, blabbing with passengers? How much speed and panic steering does it take to put a car on its roof? Is the driver playing semantic games with lack of driving skills and distraction? What was accidental about her making bad decisions and driving recklessly?

Just thankful that the kids were not injured.
Why do people always assume when there is an accident that the drivers are on cell phones or texting.
Accidents (mistakes) happen for a number of reasons.
In this case, she said she over-corrected which could be easy to do since this is a hazardous road that I have driven on many times.
Again, glad that they are okay and I think the driver will be more cautious on curves in the future.
