I really don't care how many times he may or may not have fought in that place, my thought is if someone sucker punched this boy or if he was attacked by more than one person someone should pay for it. He was a yound man with his whole life in front of him and a child and a young lady that seems to love him very much. I have seen post of how hurt his sister is from her loss and you people say some things that would make a person snap. It is a shame that we live in a time where people are so mean and hurtful but I can tell you if I thought for one second my loved one was killed in some low life bar and grill and they were covering it up in anyway they would not be running it long. I hope they find out the truth so this family can have some closure even though something this tragic I really don't think you heal from.

First and foremost, I really feel for the family. Anytime a young person dies it is tough for the families impacted by whatever the circumstances were that led to to the death. But especially when someone is killed in what seems to be such a preventable way, there tends to be an outcry for what should have, could have and aught to have been done differently.

For all of those posters wondering why it matters who works there, or how many police calls they have had, or the alleged criminal activity of the owner, it is simple. If these allegations about fighting, drug activity, gambling, harassment, etc. are true, it points to a place that was allowed to operate under it's own set of rules. If these reports are true and officials looked the other way, then it is a situation where a culture was allowed to exist that may have ended up playing a role in getting someone killed. Ultimately, it is the person that did it that bears responsibility for this, but if this place had been cleaned up or shut down after the numerous incidents just listed in the comments section here, who knows, maybe this young man would still be alive.

My opinion is that we need to get all of the facts out in the open. The more we allow them to sweep this stuff under the rug, the more we leave the door open to future incidents there. How many more fights, assaults, broken windows, injuries, deaths, etc. do we need before we decide that enough is enough?

As a mother of two I feel for the girlfriend and the family of the man that lost his life. The police will take care of the person at fault. You cannot replace a life or give back a child a lost father. Why not support this family and mother instead of pointing the finger at a restaurant? Where is the focus? Should we have all the bars at the Corner shut down too? Much more happens in that area. If you got hit outside Walmart does that make it a bad place? This bar has inside security and does not let underage people in. How do I know?? My son tried to go in to see a family member that Djs and was told he could not because of age. Do you know how much charity the owner of this restaurant has given to people in need? Look at the facts, stop blaming the wrong person and pray for justice when the police finish their investigation.

Do you know each of the 40 incidents that have been "reported" and their location?? Before you post something please visit the place, look up the reports and do a little research. It is very clean. Broken glass?? Please look up the report on that one. A downtown businessman's brake went out on his car while parking. A well respected man. I will not summarize each event for you. It is the behavior of the person responsible that is to blame. It would be interesting to pull their background from school and after to see how much they have gotten by with assault and battery.

Sure. I would imagine that there are reports at lots of other bars. In my opinion they should all be investigated. Unfortunately, we are less likely to hear about the ones on the corner because Mommy and Daddy pay to have good lawyers to keep things nice and quiet.

But yes, if you are getting a ton of calls and cant control people in your establishment, something needs to be done about it. I'm not sure I understand why you disagree with that. It sounds as if you are saying that we should just condone this type of behavior. Chalk it all up to kids being kids. Sorry, I disagree.

I am not blaming anyone, just want all the facts out. The better question is why are you so adamant that we not look into what kind of suspicious activity was going on there?

Ok, so your son went there to see a DJ. That makes you a spokesperson for the place and everything that goes on there? I am not pointing any fingers at the restaurant, only any wrongdoing that may have occurred by individuals representing said restaurant. Sorry, but if drug sales, sexual harassment, gambling, etc. is going on, I feel like the public has a right to know about it and we need to put a stop to it. Sorry if you disagree.

Again, the charity excuse. How is this relevent? So no one in the history of time that has donated to charity has every been guilty of anything? Stop it with this nonsense.

I am not blaming anyone. I just think that it is in our towns best interest to get to the bottom of whatever it is that is going on over there.

No I don't know the nature of every single call, that is kind of the point behind my thinking. Since I don't know the nature of every single call, I think the police should investigate it. Hello? Anyone home?

Why don't you read the posts on this very message board by parents who had kids assaulted at that place with no repercussions.

And of the reports of sexual harassment, gambling and drug sales? I notice you did not reply to any of those? I wonder why? You are saying that you are ok with that? That we should leave them alone so they can continue these activities?

All I want is for those things to be investigated. There are enough reports to warrant looking into this place, that is all.

Enough of this bull, if you weren't there or not involved you need not put your 2 cents in this, let the cops do there job and let the family grieve in peace.

Shut down the restaurant or take away the alcohol license for the business. Any restaurant that needs to hire bouncers do not need to be open for business.

Well we can both agree on letting the family grieve and letting the police do their jobs, but in response to my "two cents", this is not how reality works. There are these things called media outlets that report news from various locations, because we as citizens certainly can't be at every place at every time to be able to have all the knowledge on every single situation happening firsthand. If I don't live in Scottsville can I not comment on Dumler? If I don't work at the University can I not comment on the ousting of President Sullivan? If I don't frequent the Elks Lodge can I not discuss the shooting that took place there? If I don't work at BW3 can I not talk about the brawl that took place there not long ago?

The reason for these news outlets is to get the information out to the people. The reason for these forums is so that the people have a place to go to discuss these types of happenings in their communities. The problem here is that you are the worst type of commenter. On that cannot have a rational discussion with someone who disagrees with you. I like hearing different viewpoints as long as those viewpoints can bring something of value to the conversation. When all you can do is spew nastiness and nonsense about not putting two cents in, it is clear that it is no longer a discussion. I will not participate in arguing with a fencepost.

I hope NBC 29 sees all the slander and defamation of character taking place on this site, as I'm sure it will be presented in a court at some point. Yes IP addresses can be FIOA'ed and real names attached. Unless you have proof of said allegations made against anyone on these pages you are vulnerable to such actions.
The sad reality of this is that as a society we would rather sit back and judge others from the sidelines under false names, then to be involved by name or to allow the system to work. Is it a perfect system NO, but it is what we are governed by. Let the rumors, assumptions, etc go and allow the truth to come forward or be presented by ones involved. Just because you have your personal feelings about an owner, employee, former employee, the police, etc keep it there as its yours and no one else's. Lets keep focused on the matter at hand not what has happened prior as its not what's being looked at for the sake of the investigation and family who has lost a love one!!!!

Flat out the best burgers in Cville.

Greene County supports riverside almost as much as Forest Lakes Community does.

I think I am going there now! Bacon Double CheeseBurger, With Ketchup, Mustard, Onions, and a half and half basket fries and onion rings. Going to wash it down with a classic coca cola in the bottle.
