Let the kids sing it. As soon as they go home they have forgotten it and are playing with their PS3s. When they start wearing brownshirts and jackboots, then you can worry.
Seems like a had a brownshirt (in a brown truck) in my driveway every day for the weeks preceding Christmas...uh, sorry Woodbrook, I meant to say "preceding Winter Holiday." Those brownshirts work hard and, generally, are pretty pleasant folks.

A couple other songs written by school children; these are praising His Holiness, the Chosen One, the Omnipotent, that Community Organizer Extraordinaire, that Hip--hop BBQ lovin' Motown Mama's Man His Ba-a-ad Self; Barack Hussein-as-salaam-alaikum Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm.

Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"

Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!

Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So continue ---- Mr. President we know you'll do the trick
So here's a hearty hip-hooray ----

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

Hey Susan,
You could use some education, "mimicing" is spelled mimicking and "there" is spelled their. Glad to know you are not teaching my children as you appear to be uneducated yourself. Read a book, open your closed mind.

<quoted text> In short, the tests showed U.S. fourth-graders performing poorly, middle school students worse. and high school students are unable to compete. By the same criteria used to say we were "average" in elementary school, "we appear to be "near the bottom" at the high school level. People have a tendency to think this picture is bleak but it doesn't apply to their own school. Chances are, even if your school compares well in SAT scores, it will still be a lightweight on an international scale.
By the time our students are ready to leave high school - ready to enter higher education and the labor force - they are doing so badly with science they are significantly weaker than their peers in other countries.
Our idea of "advanced" is clearly below international standards.
There appears to be a consistent weakness in our teaching performance in physical sciences that becomes magnified over the years.
Causes for Failure One would think that with our vastly superior resources and the level of education spending which far exceeds these competitors we would outperform nearly everyone - not so. Dr. Schmidt, who oversees the research effort into the TIMSS results, says the actual cause for the failures appears to be weak math and science curricula in U.S. middle schools.
A more insightful explanation was once proffered by Jean McLaughlin, president of Barry University who confided "The public schools lack focus; instead of concentrating on education, they dabble in social re-engineering". That assessment was confirmed by the superintendent of the country's fourth largest school district in Miami-Dade, Florida who said "Half our job is education, and the other half is social work".

Hey there Hound Dawg! I'm sure you are really enthused with these ideas but if you want good schools, you have to make commitments. You have to properly fund them. If you feel that "social re-engineering" is such a problem, get out of that chair and make a difference. Volunteer to help out in the schools. Show up at school board meetings! Don't keep these ideas to yourself! Get these ideas out to parents, teachers, and administrators. The kids need your participation!

You back from the grave?
As for funding:Hoven's Index for June 27, 2011

Increase in the number of public school students from 1970 to 2010: 9%

Increase in public school employees in that period: 98%

Increase in cost-per-student (inflation adjusted) in that period: 275%

Increase in test scores in that period: 0%

Source: Andrew Coulson of the Cato Institute, via Big Government.

As for volunteering: I volunteered 5 years of my life as a teacher in the public education system. It is not fixable. It needs to be scrapped just like everything else the government interferes with except national defense.

Titled “Inauguration,” here are the lyrics:

It feels like it’s been winter for a hundred years

The world is as cold as the white snow

The birds have been wondering if it’s safe to return

We’ve all been hibernating way too long

But now we’ve got the power – we’re no longer cowards

We’ll have a brand new song

Now we’re ready to shed our old skin

We’re ready for a brand new day

Ready for peace – ready for spring

Ready for freedom – let freedom ring

Welcome Barack Obama

He’ll save the day – hip hip hooray

If President Obama came to our school

I’d show him all the work I’ve done

To make peace for all the children in the world

Growing happiness for everyone

But now we’ve got the power – we’re no longer cowards

It’s time to have some fun

Now we’re ready to shed our old skin

We’re ready for a brand new day

Ready for peace – ready for spring

Ready for freedom – let freedom ring

Welcome Barack Obama

He’ll save the day – hip hip hooray

Welcome Barack Obama

He’ll save the day – hip hip hooray

Barack Obama – hip hip hooray

Barack Obama – hip hip hooray

Barack Obama – hip hip hooray

Barack Obama!

Missing from the "kids'" lyrics re Occupy were the following.

The anti-Jewish rhetoric, the so-called Mom who stripped naked in front of her child at Midnight to streak the police, the anti-police vulgarisms, the defacement of a public statue, the rapes and other sexual assaults, the drug overdose deaths, the murders, the roughly 4,000 arrests across the nation, the blocking of American shipping ports, the drug use, the public urination and defecation, including on a police car, the public drunkeness, the trashing of local businesses, the burning of American flags, the denunciation of American capitalism, which oddly enough pays your salary out of taxes and donations, the espousement of Marx, and a couple of other anti-American actions.

.... sadly, it appears that TEA Partiers and others commenting here have grandiose - self-serving - theories of mind-control. Why stop at suggesting that adults helped the students (which, of course, they did; put that is what adults are supposed to do, isn't it?): why not posit alien mind contol? mind control from the United Nations General Assembly? mind control from the ghosts of Lenin (oh, someone did suggest that didn't they?), or Hitler, etc? mind control from the Disney corporation (which is one of the primary sources of pacification of the public in human history)?... etc

... sadly, it appears that the TEA Partiers and others commenting here believe that local children are mental puppets without a ounce of self-esteem or thoughts of their own

this is very sad to know that the TEA Party thinks like this

This happens all the time at Woodbrook Elementary School. Children are taught to accept liberal ideas as FACT. The more liberals you create, the longer the teacher's unions will have power to dominate public education.

What are you talking about? There is no teacher's union in the state of Virginia? Are any of your thoughts based in reality, or do you just spew nonsense?

When did teachers become the enemy? WHEN??

I believe it is you who are the idiot. The organization they have occupied is known as the Virginia Education Association. I know for a fact the teachers who serve as representatives of this organization INDOCTRINATE the children within the elementary schools of Virginia. They teach their political views as FACT.

The kids that participate in this kid pan alley thing never really create their own songs...I have witnessed it with my own eyes...it is ridiculous....we should just give the music teachers a stipend for doing this same thing but they of course would know how to lead the kids to a kid song that they actually created...then you could burn cd's and make a ton of money by selling it to parents and the money coils go to playground equipment, etc.....
