I agree totally with Jamie Morgan and commend her for voicing her opinion (one that a majority of the people share). Chris Dumler is repulsive (especially his grin) and does not deserve to retain his seat on the board. The fact that he is still there is a slap in the face to our community.

didnt know much about the guy until all this happened. yeah he did some stupid stuff from what i hear. all of that aside does he do a good job on the board? if we can get past a president(s) doing what they do behind closed doors or under tables, then why can people not get past this?

if he doesnt do a good job on the board then yes he should go, but if he does good and fights for the people in his district, regardless of what he did the let the guy be.

we are all human and make mistakes. the bible says we are to forgive. it is not our place to judge this guy nor anyone else....its God's job to do that.

Had this of been anyone else, they would have had to register as a sex offender. He has gotten off so easy. There are two sets of criminal justice happening here. One for politicians and one for the citizens. The judge and prosecutor should have their heads examined for this plea deal to start with.

Obviously "Dont know much" really does not know much. I bet it is one of the two people who still support Dumler.

If you sre not in our district then MYOB. We will take him down or not.. it is our choice not yours,

Do you think he is the only politician that likes rough sex? If you don't like it don't date him.

He is NOT a convicted rapist... he is a guy accused of forcible sodomy that was plead down to a misdameanor because the state had no case...

maybe he did worse, maybe he didn't, but its all over now so go be obnoxious somewhere else... you can start with the frat houses... just look for the dumps with girls going into them dressed like hookers every thurs friday and saturday night looking for "mr right".... I am sure there are plenty of "assaults " going on in there...

You're not even in Charlottesville! If you're in his district and think he should go, that's fine. If you're in his district and think he shouldn't, that's also fine. Since neither appears to be the case, butt out!

Those who oppose Mr. Dumler spoke during comments from the public and all were given additional time to complete their comments. This is a routine time given to comments about anything other than what is on the agenda as a public hearing.

Once the comments were completed, the BOS continued on with the first public hearing on the budget.

Not really sure how this "overshadowed" the meeting as the hearing started and many people spoke about the budget.

More a matter of the politicians using the Dumler matter as an excuse to ignore the people's budget complaints.

Why hasn't anyone protested the Commonwealth Attorney's office. That is who accepted the plea. Let the board move forward with the business that effects the county at large!

If I had an issue that I wanted to contact my area board member about, the last person I would want to call on is that despicable, sarcastic little pervert with the smug look on his face. He is no longer effective in his position. When is the rest of the board going to admit that and figure out a way to get rid of him? He needs to go.

While I agree Dumler needs to resign and I appreciate everyone's efforts to pressure him to resign, I do feel the effort is being overshadowed by the young lady who was asked to leave. Don't get me wrong, I love her passion but I think it's hurting the effort. Speak the message, and do it without cursing, crying or screaming, and the message will be more effective in my opinion. Keep up the fight!

I think it's a shame that we have him working for Albemarle county. I work for Albemarle county myself and can not believe that the county hasn't made him step down.It really makes Albemarle county look bad that we have criminals working for us.thr department I work for would have already made us step down on the very first day and not let back in after you was found guilty. VERY VERY HIGHLY UPSET WITH ALBEMARLE COUNTY.

If he was half as smart as he thinks he is, he would realize that it is over. He needs to resign for the good of all. Miserable little pervert

Your thinking is exactly backwards the whole way through. If had been anyone else, he wouldn't've been charged in the first place. If there are only two people in the bedroom, both there voluntarily (as they were in this case), and there is no physical evidence of force (and there wasn't in this case), no way a DA brings charges in a "he said/she said" case. It's unwinnable. If it had gone to trial, Dumler would've won easily, but it would've stayed in the news for another year. He pled to get it over as quickly as possible--in a month or two the local moonbats will by howling in outrage at the next insignificant scandal to come along.

The commonwealth's attorney offered the plea deal and the judge approved it. Dumler would be stupid not to have taken it.
