King Willy was not a man with a great deal of integrity but I don't think he was that low.

I find this hard to believe about a man that once protected our county and made sure justice did prevail!!!! Maybe whoever is starting all the vicious rumors need to put their energy towards doing something better!!!!

I didn't know Mr. Morris personally, but I also heard the rumors, he was a security guard that night at JPJ, and also he had worked the hay on that land where she was found.

Once again people have nothing better to do so they go out and trash people's name. This should have never been a story. I feel sorry for people who have nothing better to do but to hurt people. His mother lived to see her son die and now has to hear vicious lies about her son. Get a life and a job and leave these people alone.

This is to rumors did you not read the story that said it was not true.

Just wondering if roid rage could cause someone to bruttaly shatter someones bones ?

Funny of all the rumors the VSP decides to tackle the ones about Willie working the JPJA on OCT 17th and bailed hay on the Anchorage farm .

What do your comments have to do with Willie Morris, he has not been in office for years and had some bad health problems.

In their attempt to "put to rest" the rumors, they are actually stirring up more rumors by printing this. I can't help wondering if that's their real intention.

Someone has to be the blame so what is better then a dead man which he can not defend his self. They are barking up the wrong tree. I think they should be checking with the ones who saw her that night on the bridge and at the basket ball court and the ones who saw her get into a car then they should know what kind it was. No pressure was put on the ones in that area that night. Could this be another cover up?

Some people don't feel compassion for other people's feelings at all. How would you feel if your son or daughter was being talked about like Willie is. This mother still has to go out in public and face people. He was all she had. I can't believe Willie would ever hurt a child. Have you ever thought maybe the killer started this rumor! As the state police said this is a rumor leave it alone and let the man rest in God's hands.

I will add one thought. It is extremely, extremely unusual for the Virginia State Police to issue an official statement in response to rumors.

I cannot get the Virginia State Police to follow up on a credible lead I received SIX WEEKS ago in the Alicia Showalter Reynolds/Route 29 Stalker case, and they have time to release a statement in relation to what they claim are unfounded rumors? Unbelievable.

This story really gets to me. The VSP wants to put the rumors to rest, yet they release a statement like this one?? What do you think is going to come of this? More vicious ugly rumors!!!
Morris did not work at JPJ as a security guard after he retired. I guess with the ringing in his ears he was gluten for punishment and decided to attend a Metallica concert? The concert was a cover up,as he was simply looking for a young blonde!? Come on people get a grip.
I have heard SO many rumors about what happened to Harrington. What about the father and son from Crozet that hunts the property at the farm where she was killed? What about the young boys that lived in the house that burned down near Anchorage Farm? What about the ball players that were last seen with her? What about the rumors of Harringtons own father killing her? What about the rumors of Harringtons brother killing her? Now some idiot has posted on Facebook that Morris was chosen out of a line up of potential killers before he died. My goodness, everyone needs to give up their day jobs and solve crimes.
Look at the rumors that fly everyday. Do we see them as a front page headline? No!!! Remember all the uproar over the corrupt police officers at the Charlottesville Police Department?(All the sex. cover up, etc...)Remember all the rumors over the death of Colby Eppard?
Rumors hurt. Especially slanderous rumors that are intentionally started to hurt people. Everyone knows Morris was not capable of doing such a horrendous crime. The truth is Morris pissed off a lot of people in his day. He was a good cop that didn't take the crap that people liked to dish out. He personally made Greene County a safer place to live. By doing so he stepped on a lot of toes and arrested a lot of criminals. He was one in a million and went well beyond his call of duty to protect and serve. In his day he would laugh about the rumors that circled the counties about him. But his time has come and gone. He is no longer here to defend himself. He ended his life because he could no longer stand to live because of a medical condition that he had suffered with.
Morris leaves behind a family. He has children, a mother, grandchildren, etc...that are still healing and trying to cope with their loss. Show some respect. What did Morris do that is so incredibly bad in his lifetime that people would have to stoop so low to spread such rumors? The ones spreading this garbage most likely is either listed in old Virginia Court Cases or has a family member listed in old Virginia Court Cases.
While you are all wasting precious News space and precious time speaking with VSP about Morris "NOT" being Harringtons killer...maybe you should spend a little more time finding Harringtons real killer(s). Stories like this do not deserve to be printed.

Quit talking about this guy like he was some kind of saint - please keep in mind that he committed arguably one of the most selfish acts known to mankind, devastating his mother and leaving her alone and heartbroken...many people with debilitating medical ailments would never do such a thing. Sure the rumors are most likely false, but quit glorifying this man because I believe what he did to himself is probably just as bad as what someone did to Morgan Harrington.
