A mobile brig, a field hospital, two refrigerated morgue trailers and 500 pairs of handcuffs should ensure a well-oiled event.

Cops love the OT, the county loves the money put into their coffers from all fines derived from alcohol induced infractions. The local towing companies do a good business, the rescue squads will make a few bucks and get some practice.

Everybody Wins !!!!!!

Let's see...Is there anything more indicative of the sheer obnoxiousness of this town than the Foxfield Races? We have...
1. Preppy Kennedy-wannabes staggering around intoxicated slurring "wahoo-wa."
2. Vacuous bimbos wearing overdone spring dresses and millinery over their bad bleach jobs drinking wine coolers, fawning over equine and, eventually, passing out.
3. An overrated venue...with small-minded individuals imagining they are in the most beautfiul locale in the world.
4. Horses trotting around an oval in an event of little consequence to anyone in the equine industry.

Ugh!

This supposed importance of the issues you list is all in your head, and you're free to head off to a nicer place if they'll take you. Danville and Waynesboro have already publicly stated that you will be escorted out of town if you enter.

I'll raise a glass (just one & in the comfort of my own home), to the EMTs and staff in the ED next weekend. They're going to MORE than earn their pay!!

Yes you are right, cops love their OT but NOT when it is forced upon them. Most of them would rather be at home or somewhere else enjoying their day off instead of being mandated to baby sit people who think Foxfield is a free pass to break every law they can think of. C'mon people, every year people are arrested at this event, people are sexually assaulted, and people are carted away in the rescue squads! But yet, Foxfield somehow continues to get an alcohol permit??!! Let's put the blame where it really should be focused, the County for continuing to turn a blind eye to this drunkfest. They can shut down clubs for violations but continue their support of this event!

But why would I ever go to such unworldly places as Danville or Waynesboro? I would be too far away from Barracks Road (for shopping) and UVa (to stimulate my intellect). This is a world-class city with world-class cultural events; I am staying put, my Skakel-like friend.

Any excuse to get drunk. My daughter used to compete in this venue but she refused to take part in Foxfield stating that she could find other things to do than rub shoulders with drunks.
