If it were any other situation, I would be yelling "hell yeah charge them!" but in this case, I just cant do it. What sways me is the fact that she killed family members, that's a life sentence right there, since one was her daughter. What's the point in locking her up for life?

I would hope that in return for her bad decisions, she would turn her life around and crusade against drunk driving, using herself as an example and possibly save more lives in doing so. Perhaps if they MUST charge her, a wise Judge will see the benefit in putting her on probation and making her crusade instead of locking her away.

My condolences to all effected by this tragedy.

They wouldn't lock someone up for life for manslaughter. Many people charged with manslaughter kill people close to them. The situation is just plain sad.

Although your comment pulls at my heart strings, I have to say "No, No, NO"!!! She has to pay for what she has done more than just in an emotional sentence. She killed two people she loved most in life and I cannot imagine the pain she feels, but allowing her to walk away without criminally paying would open up a new can of worms for drunk drivers already pulling sentences or ones who will make the same mistake she has. Thankfully we are all entitled to our opinions. She should be charged with manslaughter times 2.

they arleady said she is charged with DUI, what difference does any other blood work really matter? That's a question, not an argument for or against.

Hey Hillbilly! Lock her up so she won't kill someone in your family. Seems she doesn't care about her own!

Seriously? The woman was driving while drunk. Speeding while driving while drunk. And you say seems like an accident to me. Really? So if she had hit your best friends car verses the tree would you be saying "sounds like an accident to me"????

I'm guessing the blood test is to see if she was under the influence of any drugs, besides alcohol.

I think they are checking her alcohol level. I guess the level will determine how they file additional charges?

It doesn't say who the blood test is being done on. It might be on one of the passengers. Think about it.

It doesnot make any sense why you know from the start that you can't drink and drive then why do it. That could have been her children or someone else even though it was her daughter why wasn't she driving . I believe i wwould taake a chance on driving without a liscense before I would drive drunk or drug up all of it is not safe in a car it is putting everybody elses life in danger i feel sorry for the family but hey you are an adult why let alchol come between your life alcholism is a disease and it will control you if you let it it is up to the responsible adult or the persons that are doing the drinking.so you have to pay like everyone else who had the same thing happen to them they law is the law maybe request treament for the disease before jail time .

Your posting is touching , but just because she was drinking this time doesn't make her an alcoholic. However she made a BAD choice and will have to pay the consequences for the rest of her life, emotionally and physically. Her daughter most likely did have a license at her age. We will never know why the daughter and ex husband got into the passenger seat with a drunk driver, but they are not here to defend their actions. I would walk before I got in a vehicle with anyone drinking!! Regardless of how many times people get killed on the roads, others never learn from their tragedies. When will people wake up and understand that you cannot be under the influence and then drive. Even a two mile drive is dangerous and wreckless. Not only do you risk your life, but you risk everyone elses on the roads.

Although I do feel sorry that she made the bad decision to drink and drive, she should still have to face the consequences, whatever they may be. I understand that she lost her daughter and ex husband but as a society, there has to be rules and regulations and they have to apply to all. I work in a labor and delivery unit and we have inmates that come here to have their baby. While it's sad that the mother has to leave the baby here, again it was her bad choice that made it this way. My heart breaks for the family. I cannot imagine the hurt/guilt the mother must be going through all because of a bad split second decision.

If that is in fact the case, that will remove the DUI charge, it will do nothing to change the manslaughter charges. At least with the DUI factored in, there was the"clouded judgement". Jumping hills is just dumb. This isn't Hazzard county. A really dumb decision to show off killed her family.
Of course I'm just a little curious about how the tire broke going UP the hill, since that is where the tire marks indicate loss of control. Going what was more than likely 2x the speed limit with several people in the vehicle is just....yeah
