This is albemarle way of saying thank you to the people of Waynesboro and Nelson County for spending money or working in their county. Did they give out smokes after they screwed everyone?

Glad to see them out there. The intersection of 64 and 29 is a hazardous area, with big rigs on 29 northbound trying to turn left to get onto 64 westbound, with these folks driving like maniacs on 29 southbound. 29 is NOT a limited access highway. There are all sorts of driveways and crossroads that are a recipe for disaster. I am happy that the County police are trying to prevent tragedies by enforcing the speed limit.

And criminals laugh all the way to the bank while cops write tickets.

This is the same thing the old police chief did. I thought Steve Sellers had fresh ideas. Just because its an easy place to shoot fish in a barrel doen't mean public safety is enhanced.

Who killed Morgan Harrington, Mr. Sellers?

Wish they'd do this more in the southern part of the county where the Budweiser swollen rednecks think STOP means "punch it".

It amazes me that people disagree with ticketing people 10 MPH+ OVER the limit. If you're doing 70 in a 55, you know you're going too fast. And when you get pulled over, you shouldn't be at all surprised. I speed, but never more than 10 over (with the exception of passing on a 2-lane).

Having said that, if you're going 45 or slower on this same stretch of road, I think the cops should have pulled you over too for being a hazard.

I've been tagged by this before...no complaints. It's a game of wits, and being observant is your best tool. I saw them lined up on the shoulder of the Fontaine on ramp, like a/c waiting to be "shot" off a carrier. It actually makes me a better driver, because I am paying closer attention to ALL the vehicles on the road, and not texting or talking; a novel idea , I know.

Most everyone speeds, but some folks simply are luckier than others. I avoid speeding now, but I continuously have folks on my bumper or flying by me with hand gestures. THey will have to keep on, because I am done with speeding tickets. If everyone would just take a deep breath and realize they are not going to get there any faster. My last ticket was enroute to see a sick relative in another state (that I was told may not make it) Several months later, I drove 3 hours to that courthouse and was given an option of taking a driving improvement class. I did this and avoided a conviction. Thank you to the judge that offered me another option. No more tickets for me.

I hope you're not one of the **many** annoying local 'drivers' who camp in the fast lane doing the speed limit with a half mile of pissed off commuters behind you & a mile of empty road ahead of you.
