Don't worry, uva will take over the city and county soon with it's endless building program. All the new buildings will hold thousands of people and they will also make three new parking spaces.

SORRY, but after a year of work, it seems that TJ Planning District Commission has spent lots of money - mainly for its staff - to accomplished very little. This is not a time to 'party' as this event suggests. It is a time to apologize for poor participation, incomplete outcomes for this stage, and shocking lack of diversity of participation. And, of course, also highlight accomplishments. But, the accomplishments so far do NOT deserve a party - and spending money on a party. I've attended many of the community 'charrettes', forums, and meetings and been particularly UNimpressed with the diversity of participation. I've seen many of the same people making the same comments ( as have I). But, it is not our paid job (and we must say very well paid jobs - compared to others working in public service, education, etc) to ensure that there is excellent diversity of participation! Please report on the budget and plan devised for all of this, report what has been spent so far, and what is left to spend, and report what is left to accomplish, and how the TJPDC will ENSURE EXCELLENT participation from throughout the city and county communities! Oh, and include in the report how much of the TJPDC budget has been spent on staff, on food and parties, graphic design and printing, etc. And, report if and how diverse businesses have benefited from this spending. Thank you.
