Actually it would be quite easy to rear end someone on the interstate if you were going 65 and they were going say 50-55mph. Not sure if that was the case here but without all the facts you might want to hold the blame.

It doesn't matter if the car in front which was the Subaru was going slower than the speed limit, PAY ATTENTION and GET OFF THE PHONE and QUIT TEXTING, get in the fast lane if you want to go fast! That is problably what she was doing but she only gets charged with reckless diving are they crazy? Get her for speeding, reckless, manslaughter something than just reckless!!

I think the real scum is the ones who forget the boy has a mother and family. Would you like someone to run down your family name? He is not the first to drink and drive and sorry to say he won't be the last. If someone dug in your closet how many skeletons would they find? In stead of degrading him how many have took the time to try and help.

Oh my, people of course I get that hitting the car is possible this way, stop being dense. The point is the fool is an idiot and needs to be off the road and get some jail time for killing someone!

That Lincoln Town Car passed me about 5 minutes before the accident doing (my estimation) 85 mph. That's one way to rear end a car on the highway...

Making this 25 year old "boy" the victim just won't work. He is 100% responsible for any suffering his family does because of his actions.

So you think we are 'scum' for daring to state our opinions about someone breaking the law and killing one man who was a son, father and husband and injuring three other people, including his wife. Their children live in England. I'm sure they would have loved to see their Mom for Mother's Day, but not to attend their father's funeral. Did you forget that the people obeying the law also have mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and children. That's who I feel sorry for.

Did you report that to the State Police? If not, you should be ashamed of yourself.

No question, this should be involuntary manslaughter. You can get reckless just for speeding. So if you were driving reckless enough to cause a wreck where someone dies, you caused that death while committing another crime, the legal definition for involuntary manslaughter.

Reckless driving is just a start. They probably will have to wait until blood tests come back to see if he was DUI and they will have to get a search warrant for his cell phone records to see if he was texting.

Considering who he killed and that it is already National and International news, they know their investigation will be scrutinized by the media.

He wasn't drinking- blew 0.00 - he had a blue tooth earpiece on- no texting while driving- he was set on cruise control and was driving to commencement services at Virginia Tech. He does have a family who is grieving for the fact that this happened at all- and can only pray that people understand that the "assumptions" strangers make are mean and wrong! Find something else to do with your time and life- unless you are an eye witness or personally involved - keep the hurtful parts and don't automatically attack someone for which you do no know!!! He also ran directly to the vehicle and starting getting the people out before the emergency vehicles got there! So please find another story to post you fiction and assumptions on!
