Or maybe it's because historically people come out to job fairs and it's more advertising for the company than jobs being offered...

EXACTLY ! These Job Fairs are total BS; especially the ones at JPJ.
Between the tax breaks and self serving advertising for the "employer", these job fairs are a huge waste of time for the unemployed attending. If you don't believe me, then go, and then report back to this forum and tell me what your experience was.

Not really up on job fairs, I guess I'm lucky but thanks for the info, didn't know.

Not so, tried to get into a particuler company vie phone and email with out success. Went to the job fair many months past at JPJ and talked to the company HR rep. Landed an interview several weeks later fowwole by a job offer. Might alos add that it is the dream job.

starting from the bottom and WORKING what a concept....So many people feel entitled....I am sick and tired of carrying all you lazy unmotivated people..Go to the job fair and TALK to someone don't sit behind your PC and think you are going to get hired...hit the pavement and WORK!!!

i went to one of these 2 years ago and left after 7 companies in a row told me they werent actualy hiring they were just there to get applications in. total waste of time.
