Kids just playing out what they see around them. A microcosm of our society, and not much different than how our leaders act.

You must judge a school on based on their sports not on academics. There is not a single school in this area that has higher academic rigor for their honors level & AP courses, No other school has the variety of honors level courses, the level of achievement in orchestra, chorus, and other academic related extra-curricular activities. I absolutely agree that if you child is not in these classes it is as bad as western or monticello. It is certainly darker. WAHS seems to have an unwritten rule of no more than 1 or 2 families of color in a grade.CHS has all of the city. They try to educate all of them. It is unfortunate that many of their kids come from a background where academic achievement is not a priority and has been that way for generations. But I dare say the kids who graduate from CHS are better equipped to deal with society today than those the likes of you.

Anybody looking into how the VHSL is handling this? They will hand out suspensions soon, if it hasn't already happened. CH. 29, do your job. Follow up on this story and start digging!

Since nobody was ejected, and no punches were thrown, the VHSL will not get involved. However, there is a VHSL rule about players leaving the bench. We'll have to see how the Monticello and CHS admin handle this. Do they suspend multiple players and forfeit the next game, or cheat and overlook the offending players on tape?

Your assertion about the quality of education at CHS is baseless. The school can offer as much challenge as a kid is willing to accept. You should try taking one of the AP exams. Let us know how you do.

If you had a different experience there, then I suspect that you got out of it what you put into it.

Thank you...I graduated from CHS with 22 college credits and am now attending Lynchburg College. So, my parents obviously gave a "tweet" about my education. Also, people in my class got accepted to Harvard, Princeton, UVA, Yale and more top schools. So, before you start insulting a schools education value how about you attend the school or do your homework because CHS has very bright students, people just choose to only see the bad things that are reported about the school.

The news mentioned Monticello players having to sit out a game, but I believe the Charlottesville players remained on the bench. Such restraint from those young men several of you are calling "thugs". I don't know any Charlottesville team members but I was very proud of their ability to stay on the bench.

Good coaching, perhaps?
