Moul has become silent incumbent

There are 28 comments on the Evening Sun story from May 30, 2010, titled Moul has become silent incumbent. In it, Evening Sun reports that:

In a season where we, the people of the 91st legislative district in Adams and Franklin counties, are preparing to decide if we will again entrust you to represent our interests in the State Legislature in Harrisburg, I; as one of those same voters, publicly demand that you identify your position on two key local issues which will come before you ...

The special interests have bought every politician at the local, state and federal level. That is why he is silent on issues important to you. Whatever happened to reduction of property tax? Easy answer - the teachers unions, the township supervisors organization and the county unions have decided you don't deserve a reduction.
If your local rep has not yet been bought, the party leadership has which is why legislation reducing property taxes will go nowhere.

I have to agree Mr.Moul is no longer on my keep in office list. He has done very little in regards to the things that he promised us during his election. I will be voting for his opponent no matter who it is, we need to keep voting people out until we get someone who actually does something that is important to US the VOTERS

Unfortunately Dan doesn't have to listen to any of you because no one is even running against him.

Why didn't one of you run against him? He has never won in the Gettysburg area--just in the area he is from. I have never voted for him--have always written someone elses name in just to show him he will never get all the votes even if he is the only name on the ballet.

Those of us against the casino know he is on LeVan's side and has been from the beginning 5 years ago. How do you think he got where he is? That has never been a secret. It is just that now he knows better than to admmit it in public because LeVan will never have a casino in Gettysburg and that would make him look bad.

Yep, alot of people can campaign about issues that the citizens of the commonwealth are concerned about. But do they know that they can do anything about them after they are elected? Instead of railing against one person, why not send your letter straight to Harrisburg? Or get a group of people to send the message to the state capital?
Unbelievable

Danny Boy goes south. He thought that once he got elected he was good to go and nothing could derail his life long job. Guess what-your silence is deafening. Bye bye - you lost my vote too but who cares right? No one running against you so you will get another two years. Congratulations on becoming one of them. Sad.

This republican will never vote for Danny again. He had my support but his silence along with the picture of he and Levan shows he is a backdoor politician, his word is suspect. Unfortunately, a republican incumbent in Adams is hard to beat.

Finally! Dan Colgan I agree wholeheartedly. Why is it that we cannot get representation in PA General Assembly that will represent the people in the county seat, Gettysburg!

Correction to some. Dan Moul is not running unopposed in the 91st. Unfortunately Derf Maitland is a joke as the democratic challenger.

How about a write-in candidacy? Well I for one won't vote for either of these jokers. I say we take the advice from the movie Brewster's millions and vote "None of the Above"

The only way to make change in Harrisburg is to run people who will represent that honestly and when they don't you vote them out. That is why Dan Moul needs to go. He ran on a reform agenda to represent the entire district and now that he's there he is cowtowing to the leadership...time to go Chairman MOUL.

We do not need any elected representatives that refuse to be accountable to the voters. I am joining with all those that work to make these politicians respond to the voters or work to replace them!

No, I am not a tea party fan. You don't expect Dan to answer that question do you?

And my mistake, I forgot about Derf running against him. Looks as though I will be voting for him just as a statement to Moul.

What a joke.

Remember, good ole Stevie boy thought he could save his political career by aligning himself with the No Casino crowd. Remind us again how that worked out of him.

Folks, don't be fooled by the NCG rhetoric. There are far and away more people in the Gettysburg area that are decidedly anti-NCG than anything else.

I've said it many times...I personally am not against casino gambling; hell I enjoy it, but it should be long contemplated on whether placing one near (anywhere near the direct vicinity of) the Gettysburg battlefield is prudent. Move it down the road 15 miles and everyone can then move on and support the project but better yet start talking about other subjects! Mr. Levan isn't budging. He isn't content on simply owning a casino, he wants where he wants it regardless of the people in the area. THAT'S WHY WE NEED REPRESENTATION...real representatation.

How everthing gets turned into a casino debate I don't know.Robohealth, you are correct, that is why it should be left to the people of adams county, and just so you know the vast majority of people in adams county support the casino. Best part is it doesn't require any new building, the building has been there operating as a resort. The argument against this holds no water, how far is it to go from a hotel resort, to a casino...please. Where were all the protests when the hotel resort was there?

Local: I'm sure you'll agree that a "resort hotel" doesn't come along with the inherant criminal baggage that a casino does. The whole ...where were the protests thing doesn't really apply. Sure, some of the people are from the vantagepoint of casinos are bad wherever they are... but I think (and I believe there was a survey done within the past year) a vast majority of those opposed to the Gettysburg facility would have less of a problem with the casino if it were located elsewhere in the county. Seems to me that there was talk early on about a cooperation between Hanover Shoe Farms and some of their land. There are TONS of vacant buildings that could be host to the casino in Adams county - but you have to be willing to entertain the option. Mr. Levan isn't - at least he hasn't shown any desire to date.

I have met both of them several times. Trust me when I say that Derf is related to him in name and bloodline, but their beliefs and work ethic are entirely different.

According to the requirements for a Class 3 license (which is the only type currently available) the ONLY complex in Adams County that is eligible and available is the Eisenhower Inn. There may be hotels in other counties that meet the requirements but then the tax benefit does not stay in Adams County.

There was discussion early on, but that was for a different Class of license. Back then there was the possibility of one of those licenses becoming available when another proposed resort was having trouble with their financial backers. They were able to find other investors and there are now no licenses available in that Class.
