Tucker needs to take his business elsewhere. There are so many municipalities that would welcome his tax base and the jobs that it would create. It is very unfortunate that a local municipality is running a business into the ground at a time such as this. Look at how long the former Nell's has sat vacant. If Tucker leaves, those other building will sit as well. East Berlin and some other municipalites have a reputation as not being friendly to businesses.

Maybe they think they are in Germany before the wall fell?

Hoffman drove out the small business that was in the old Nell's building. It just wasn't politically correct. Didn't make some kind of old looking stuff. It is absurd that they have spent 22K on lawyers. Jeeze, it could have been donated for fire hydrants!

All that money the borough so desperately needs spent on a sign of patriotism. They can't even support the local fire department to match surrounding municipalities. They are continuing to spend that money to drive out the tax base in East Berlin/the businesses.

I agree with all of the above. The article says that a total of $18,883.00 of the $22,000.00 budgeted for this year has already been spent on legal fees. Didn't Richards say in previous newspaper articles that this Tucker/Hog Wild debacle was close to ending and no more money would be spent? What if Tucker wins his case in court? Are they going to waste more money to fight on an appeal? And where do they think this money comes from...trees?

Let's see...total legal fees spent for 2010/2011 is about $200 per borough household.
Richards said, "We've just about hit our limit", Bob says, "We hit OUR limit months ago!". Where ya been Dick?
Shultis said, "It could take a while", Bob says, "No kidding!". We all could have told ya that Timmy-boy!
Bob also says, "Borough residents WILL spend a lot more on the legal fees!". Thanks Dick and Timmy-boy.

Well the truth finaly be told.
Richards is again a lier. He said it will only be a "few dollars more" a month ago. Now there out of money. So the Zoning Board will not have to meet this year. So let the zoning officer, whats his name Tharyer go. Hell he was only following the direction of Clayton, Woodward, Hoffman, Jan that is who is Woodwards wife who really is in charge of the borough council.
Now the story will go on, but will the borough be able to support any more legal action. What happens if Hog-Wild and Tucker continue legal action. Well I guess the Taxes will rise again. How else will King Richards and his court jesters continue to be in control.
Lets see:
January is just about done, that leaves 10 more months of there "leadership" to dig a deeper hole for the borough. OK lets go on to more inportant issues. A new ordance on delinquent refuse bills.
OK good, but publish in the paper who those people are. Are any of "Our Town East Berlin leaders" on that list. If you have that info in the borough office, it is public info. Citizens check it out.
Thank god i moved

I am so glad i moved when i did. Now my inlaws cannot move. They are both retired and cannot afford to move. And with SS not giving out cost of living raises. They told me that they can see the increases of taxes and sewer bills rising. Richards needs to leave and take everyone on the board with him and start over with new members. The town would be alot better with some of the residents running the town.
I just feel sorry for the older residents living in town. I hope Richards can wake up and smell the roses before it is too late.....
