all of a sudden my scanner dissapeared and does not work. tried to re-install about 10 times and it still can't find scanner. Does the CD not include the scanner installation or what? It's extremely aggrivating when you use something regularly and all of a sudden it no longer works or exists. Any suggestions???

Just had the same problem with my PSC 1210. Problem is caused by IE7. Easiest solution is to uninstall IE7 via Add/Remove Programs and await updates from HP or Microsoft.

Re: HP Photo and Imaging Director Hates IE7

----------

Click (or double-click) on the Director Icon like you normally do to run it... the program is starting, but hiding.

After a second or two, hit <ALT><Space> on the keyboard. That will "pop-up" a dialog box... click "Minimize" (may have to click it twice). You will then see the Director icon appear in the taskbar. Click the taskbar Director button and the program will then come up and work normally.

It worked thank you very much, they forgot to add wait a second or two on the hp page. Now at least I can launch the director. Thanks again.

Edward, you are a complete star! After hours of messing about - I discovered your tip and it worked perfectly. Thank you. I suppose it is too much to expect HP to actually do something about the problem. At the very least they could offer your solution as a temporary fix.

Thanks again

I tried Edward's advice and it seemed to work - the program appeared. Howver, when I selected "scan document" I got the error message: "An error has occurred communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure the scanning device is connected properly and try again" My device is HP PSC 1210 All-in-one and connection is OK for printing and copying so why not for scanning?

Hello all,
I used Edward´s advice with some changes: after the Alt+L, choose Move and after Minimize... the HP Director will appear at the Windows taskbar. Goodbye!
