My Lid Actuator switch doesn't work on HP pavillion dv 2000.
It's switched all the time, so LCD is dim, touchpad and multimedia keys don't work too. Could you help me with solving this problem? I tried to find this switch, as HP service told me, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks very much.

It is under the RH hinge but the display assy needs to be removed to gain access to it.

But under the keyboard (3 screws inside battery bay to remove) you can see in centre top that you have connectors LCD1, CAP1 and a 2 pin connector under the edge of aluminium called lid 1. If you disconnect the 2 pin connector lid1 the switch is disabled.

But remember now you have to shut down the laptop each time you finish with it as it will not do it when the lid is shut.

Right hand looking as if you can see the screen.

This is a known problem with the HP notebook computers. Often the lower left corner of the display will start to crack, and eventually the crack will spread across the bottom and across the left side of the lid.

I have a DV2095 as well and faced the same issue I followed the above mentioned steps and to my delight it worked out just fine.
To add to above info there is no fourth nut as a matter of fact there are only 3 screws and not four. just make sure that you slide the keyboard with care and tender as it is connected with a cable to the lappy.

It really works.
