HP online help says that I can download the OCR from the installation CD by selecting custom install. But when I insert the CD I don't get the custom install option. How do I install OCR?

I had the same problem. You need to choose a format that is text compatible, such as .rtf or .PDF (searchable).

OCR recognition in an image HTML web document viewer can be combined within any modern broswer, like Firefox, IE7+, Google Chrome and mobile safari. Such OCR SDK within an image viewer can be used to scan a document and convert it to a searchable PDF file.
