Hello Everybody,
I have recently bought a new HP Pavilion dv 6548 Laptop, that originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium.
The problem is that I don't want Vista and I needed XP. So, i installed XP (Solved the SATA Hard Drive Prob.), and managed to find all the drivers for the different Hardware on the Computer( took me 1 FULL DAY!!), but could not find the drivers for the sound card and the LAN card!!, can any one help me with this.

Also note that HP does not provide the drivers for the sound nor the lan card for windows XP for my laptop, ONLY windows Vista. I Also Called HP Customer Services and they said they do not support Windows XP for this Laptop!!, Seems Like MS and HP Planing something togethor.

Thanks anyhow.

Hello, I have the same laptop and didn't like vista and rolled back to winxp facing the same exact problems of not finding and detecting the drivers. I searched for days to find a link for winxp drivers on the HP website for pavillion CTO 6000 notebook drivers which has the same hardware as our nice notebooks have. I have installed the drivers and now my notebook works fine. This link has all the drivers to get your baby working. ENJOY!

RAPS,

Here is the link where you can get the graphics driver for you dv6000 (I've got same model).

http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Int...

After installing this driver, you have to get the audio driver from hp website and install it again.

Hey! I am not quite at the level of worrying about my sound drivers and am plagued with the SATA dilemma. Can someone help me figure out how to load the drivers through the F6 option in the XP installation? Was there another way?
I have the HP Pavilion dv6000 and it didn't come with a floppy disk as it's a new laptop. Will the XP installation recognize the drivers from an external floppy disk drive? Currently I don't have one, but if it will work and I can get away from Vista, it's worth it!!!

I am having the same problem as those above. I went to the hp download website and did not see any regular network interface drivers. Is the driver included in the broadcam wireless LAN driver? I need to know becuase currently wireless is not an option for me to connect. If there is somewhere else I can find the driver let me know.

Kinda hard! I've got the same issue. After looking different websites I found an alternative:

Create a new XP CD with your SATA drivers included (costumize your CD).
You have to go through difficult steps by downloading a software (NLite) to attach the drivers to your XP CD and burn it.

What I did was disable the SATA drivers in BIOS and install the XP. My computer runs ok with that, SATA increases the performance.
