What a fantastic parody Leo. I couldn't agree more with your slam of surf contests. Ban them all. No one has a right to control the ocean and waves for a surf contest. Due to the abuse, and it is getting worse, Santa Cruz County should fully regulate them and fine those organizers and participants that take over a spot and intimidate those that are not part of the event. BS. Besides I question any 'competitive' sport that relies on a judge's score to determine the winner. Exhibition sport fine, but not to determine a 'winner'. Surf contests in main surf zones are losers.

F-you Leo.
If it wasn't for contests and competition in general, I would have no reason to wear my jock strap all day.
Plus I wouldn't get that free Volcom gear and extra scratch for wifey to spend on her boyfriends.

If writing surf stories are so easy, why do yours suck so bad? Should you really be making fun of the people you interview?

You sure managed to shut down the flow of surf info to your "blog". Nothing since December 21. The WSA Prime last Sunday and Monday brought over $5000 in permit fees, 200 hotel nights, 800 plus meals at local restaurants and attention to the areas top surfers. They had the rights to the entire Steamer Lane Break - Middle Peak, the Slot, and Indicators, yet only took the slot for most of the event. There are surf contests in your city because your city wants the revenue and tourist dollars. If you want it to stop, tell your city council. I live in San Clemente and we had them limit the number of contests at lowers to 3 a year and the permits are expensive. If you want to reduce the number of contests, have your city raise the price of permits, but you better be prepared to completely clear the breaks of non-competitors.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Cancer

With the tender Moon waxing in your sign, you're in a romantic mood. This is great if you're with your beloved, whom you trust implicitly. You can have a wonderful time together and the rest of the world will just melt away. Try to be a little more realistic if you're dealing with money matters because there's a strong chance that someone is trying to manipulate you, or part you from what's rightfully yours. Of course, you'd never do something so devious...
