Popeye's had the same problem, but I guess since Oprah isn't involved it's not worth reporting.]

I could not redeem my coupon at the KFC located at 618 S Wabash or 60 E Lake street. So much for a free meal

I bet you thought you were pretty witty making that observation about people waiting in line for... well... GRILLED chicken.

Never mind, you're not witty, just a racist idiot.

They are not aware of any problems with the coupons?

How about that it told me I already printed them when I tried to do so? No free chicken for unemployed me, who might have liked it and gone back to BUY more -- and isn't that what they are looking for?

I guess that didn't go so well.

Just like nationalized healthcare, if you give something away that is valued, it will have to be rationed.

Good lesson, but no one learn from it until it's too late.

I figured it was only a matter of time before people griped about not getting free stuff. Wait a couple days and then go... this American attitude of "I want it NOW and deserve it NOW" is annoying.

I printed the coupon on the first day and none of the KFCs I went to would honor it. Something to do with the bar code. Whatever. This is why I stopped going there in the first place...TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I went to the KFC on Dundee during my lunch hour and the lines were insane! I can't believe how many people were there on the 2nd day. The drive thru line was backed up on to the street and the parking lot was a mess.

I didn't think it would be that packed, but oh well. I waited patiently in line, got my free chicken and went back to work.

I really liked it, I will definitely be back to purchase more.

Kentucky Fried Chicken store at Danada Square in Wheaton had a sign posted that they were not accepting the coupons. Anyone know why?

If KFC Executives think this Coupon Problem exists only in the NYC Store they need to fire the fool who dreamed this up and if Grilled Chicken fails in 6 months maybe the Sears CEO's job will still be open. I went to my local KFC to buy a 8 piece Family Pack for $ 18 and the Parking Lot was in a bedlam state with drive thru riders and parkers jockeying for position. The line in the store was not better and the Cashier said she only sold 3 chicken orders, mine being one of them since she came on shift. The rest were all coupon freebies. I will not go into a KFC store until after May 19th when this stupidity ends. Give a good discount on Grilled Chicken not a 2 piece freebie. Some freebie holders wanted Chicken Breasts only but management declined, they were irate. I paid $18 less a $3 discount for my 8 piece Family Bucket Extra Krispy, when I first bought KFC in the 50's a 20 piece bucket was $5. KFC will find that after the promotion the Grilled Chicken Freebies will go to Krogers, get the Breasts they want and grill them themselves rather than pay KFC's prices. KFC will have lost millions.
With my receipt there was an online opinion report which I wrote what I did above. After I finished I was told I didn't win the $1,000 bucks. I would have felt much better and not blogged.

Don't try to figure out the meaning behind the purposely misspelled name, English professor. Evidently you are not into music, movies, etc(where this is done frequently). I suggest you look up the word EXPRESSION before you want to teach class in the future. And oh yeah, by the way, have you heard of either Matthew Hale or his boy Benjamin Smith?

Ching did not say "black folks like fried chicken", he said colored people like fried chicken. The connotation of the word "colored" is racist. There is no one to dignify that remark.
I agree, people do need to lighten up, but the use of racially charged words cannot be tolerated.

I went to download the coupon and was asked to run an .exe file called a coupon loader. I'm sure this file is a tracker of some sort. Needless to say I did not download the file for the freebie. It suddenly didn't seem so free. I tried to email Oprah about it but couldn't make a comment on her website.
Did anyone else notice the file download?

I love that the coupons are not valid on Mother's Day! What a lovely gift to mom that would be. Hey mom, not only am I taking you to KFC, but it's FREE! Sweet!
