Danny Dolinger is a wannabe. There has already been a Pinkard and Bowden and now a Cledus T. Judd. Not much room for his front porch Andy and Barney. I think he learned that guitar part from watchin Andy sing "You Get A Line I'll Get A Pole". The song sucks as well as the singing and the whole performance. Before he cuts on any guitarist, he should be able to play one himself. Trying to accomplish playing two parts (bass and chording) at the same time takes a little more skill than he can possess. Lots of mistakes there. I did like the siren, that was a nice effect. If you want to hear a nice classic example of Mr. Dolingers music listen to "Meat Patties Fallin From Outer Space". That's real talent.

Are you freaking kidding me? The best line in their song is "until you've got a solution keep your damn mouth shut". It sounds to me like you don't...nor does the writer of the "response". To me this song is neither promoting or protesting mountaintop removal. It's supporting a man working to feed his family! It just happens to be about the coal mines. "Until you've got a solution...." If your voice is heard, maybe the coal mines will end up like the steel mills....pretty much obsolete. Will that shut you up?

no matter what you put up....either wind mills...solar...whatever...the se coal whores will say it wont work.
I bet you none of those a holes in Taylor Made could work a single 40 hour week in a coal mine.
But hell,I guess its a great idea to right a song like this then have Walker Machinery and all these other coal people promote you.We are sure lucky Beth isnt sitting up there beside Brent Benjamin...promoting the Blankenship agenda..they would all 3 be vacationing in Morocco
Wonder if any of the band would consider living in Peach Tree? Hearing the blast....no sewer...red water.

What an asinine comment!! Where you park your windmills buddy? Hate to be the one to break it to you, but they're gonna flatten the land they put them on. You think the eco whores are gonna just prance around the mountain top and look for a clearing between the trees? "Hey dude, this looks like a good spot!! Lets just put one here!!" Hell no. They're gonna cut down the timber, blast off the peak, doze it off nice and flat and line them up like dominoes. And after you hear all that blasting, you can listen to the roar. And there's no replanting the trees cause they'll get in the way of the windmills. What's your plan to resturcture that mess?

Travel down I-79 and especiall Rt. 19. It is obvious where the "mountain has been cut" to put in an interstate or highway that your ass (or anyone, for that matter( drives on. No trees to cover...no beautiful flowers..nothing but lines in the side of the mountain all along the highway. Where's the "restructuring" after that mountaintop removal? Ok for anyone except coal miners, I guess?????

hey...most people have no problem with wind mills.

including me...i dont really have a huge problem with mining, what i do have a problem with is inconsiderate people.

if you dont live on coal river. or some other place close to active MTR sites and deep mines ..you dont really understand what its like.and that goes for those bums from idaho or new york or wherever up in a dam tree.

the guys in taylor made have no had their house shook and their walls cracked. they have not lived in a dirty house beside the road all their life...they havent seen generation after generation on food stamps and welfare.

taylor made does NOT know what they are talking about when it comes to coal mining and particually the coal river valley.

like i said...let em shovel the belt for 8 hrs...then see what they say

This entire song is a joke. I'd hate to think my life was as miserable as this poor guy. However, it really confuses me too. He says his "woman" is a miner's wife, but he doesn't admit to mining himself, so he's either screwing his sister in law, or some other miners wife. LOL. That in itself could explain the cut tires. He criticizes the TM guitar player, but if you watch his fingers, he rarely moves them. He blames the miners for flood water near his home, says he left for higher ground and then went back to the house????? And he thinks TM needs their mouth washed out with soap, but says the word damn how many times? Before people decide that he's the lone voice in the wilderness speaking for us all, they should listen to some of his other stuff. Personally I think he's just being threatening and mean spirited towards the band.

This blurb from a promotional site says it all:

"Danny Dolinger is a hippy. A real one. A bonafide tree-hugging activist. He travels the world loving the planet and the people who help him travel in it, even immortalizing some of them in song."

http://www.bigmouthkid.com/...

He and his partner are described as field organizers for Appalachian Voices.

" Appalachian Voices and Coal River Mountain Watch will begin touring the country to build a national network of people who will work together to protect coalfield communities from mountaintop removal."

So, what we have going here and on other forum is mainly "field" workers with internet territories to scan & rebut any posts that are pro-coal, pro-industry. That's why (especially on the WV state board) you'll have folks who, although they try to talk the talk, they haven't walked the walk. In other words, they're acting like miners who just have a beef with Massey & MTR.

This country is in a mess. Between the administration's agenda & the radical organizations who put him in power (along with some normal folks who wanted change not socialism)and the rest of the world who wants to bring us down - I'm fearful of a complete collapse. People, we are on the edge and teetering.

These folks says their protests are peaceful, but it still doesn't make them legal. And death, whether by a million little cuts or one big jab is still fatal to the victim.

What do you know about the guys (one of which is a girl) in Taylor Made? How do you know how the grew up and what they had as kids? You say the do "NOT" know what they are talking about, but do you really know that what you say about them is true? Or are you just another hippie tree hugger looking for a place to show your ass. Because you still didn't answer the question about restructuring the mess from your precious windmills

If Danny Dolinger is traveling around the country trying save the whales and the trees and the mountains and whatever he's trying to do, he had better take that thing he's trying to play (not very well I may add)off from around his neck that's called a guitar. Which tree or trees were cut down to make that guitar there Dolinger? You can free my willy you freak.

There is a member of Taylor Made that use to work for the mines. As a matter of fact his job was pulling rock from the shaker and shoveling the belt. Most days it was ten hours not eight like you had it. All he talked about was playing music and I have seen him play at the Friends of Coal Festival for the last four years with Taylor Made. Keep up the good work promoting West Virginia and all of us miners and I wish Taylor Made much success.

Let me see if I understand the narrative here. A coal miner has a job extracting coal. The coal miner does his job and gets paid. This goes on and sometimes off for generations; boom and bust so to speak. Coal mining is dirty, dangerous, hard work, that the coal miner agrees to do for a wage that supports family. Communities spring up around this activity and are found throught the mountain south. At some point the coal gets harder to extract and companies go out of business creating the "Bust" which mean the now former coal miner must look for another means of employment. Or coal miner stays where he and his family is and complains about his circumstances, blames his former employer for his plight and protests any further attempts by the coal industry to extract coal using MTR methods. It just doesn't add up.

I feel the same way about Danny Dolinger as I do about Darryl Hannah: If you don't like our way of life, get the hell out and stay out! Oh, and by the way dumbass: the guitarist of Taylor Made, Dan Bailey does, is, and always ROCKS! Get a clue. Dolinger is an opportunist. He comes off as an IDIOT, not an environmentalist! He and Coal River Mountain Watch and Julia Bonds do not speak for all of West Virginia! The word "activist" must mean non-working big-mouth who doesn't have the wherewithall to get a job!
