What a career this will turn out to be.

Pretty soon, he'll be as famous and important as that other overweight loser, Shane Andrews, arrested for being a thug outside an Albuquerque strip joint.

Wow...some pretty big condoms for Keenan to follow.

Wow, Sounds like there's a few haters out there! If your going to talk about someone at least get your story right because I don't think it was in Albuquergue that Mr. Andrews had a problem. Finally just what is your definition of thug? and do they have any in MD.?

I saw the video too, and thought it was funny but what does it benefit? I don't want to spend almost three bucks to pay to see the archived article.

I didnt see the article, sticks in my mind, the small boy(Keenan Cahill)who is doing most of the rapping suffers from a rare disease and Cody Ross and another,(Brian Wilson) were donating their services to the lil boy in order to raise money and awareness.

Myself, it shows that all the ppl "hating on Cody", should step back a bit and ask what you ever did to benefit???

Now saying that there is a lot of good Sams that indeed do, however most who sit behind a moniter and damn ppl for doing good do not remind me of those whom do make a difference in life.

God Bless you Cody for helping make a few of this boys dreams come true!!!(That is a "True Hero")!!!

Cody Ross ROCKS !!!! Mr. Andrews is a pompous ***, I hope this town does not continue to make the mistake of letting Mr. Andrews coach anything again, He is not nice and his tactics with the children are down right rude!!! Cody if you read this, Thanx for being a good example for my children and children around the world, Good Job and I hope you have much more continued success.

I love to watch Cody. He is a good role model. If I remember correctly the story I got about Shane is that he didn't do anything wrong. It was Russell who got the whole thing started. The papers made a lot more out of that situation because of who he was. Shane is a good guy and I won't knock him. I hope he will someday be able to coach our hs team.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WW..........

Like I said, just so durned fuzzy and warm!!

I'm still waiting on Cody's project for the Carlsbad Schools!
You can give it up for a photo op but can't step up and help the school you attended. Do we need YouTube to be there?

really said Cody is "a good example for his/her children" and Carlsbad Sports Fan calls him "a good role model". How is this guy a "good example" or "role model"? Is it because he's a Jock? A Rich Jock? An opportunistic, rich Jock?? I'd rather my kids use a local teacher, Bono or Maya Angelou as a "good example".

Oh Cody! You're just so durned fuzzy and warm!

Damn- are you wanting Cody to give you some money or something? He doesn't owe you or anyone else anything. People can have good character and morale to be a good role model. They don't have to donate money or time for other people. You sound jealous. big time.

No.

Not "money or something". Cody has said that he owes Carlsbad gratitude. So be grateful Cody! Tip generously! Appear at events NOT about you! Offer up a scholarship!
irony, How do you know Cody owes no one? I just bet he owes some hefty House (not in Carlsbad) and car(s) payments. Don't BS about not "owing" anyone.

Do you KNOW that Cody has good character? I presume you meant MORALS and not MORALE, how do you know about those? From the Cody Ross press release? Maybe the "Current-Cody"?

People like Cody Ross are held to a higher standard than the rest of us. They have the means to make a difference, and I don't mean just regarding the outcome of a game.

Strictly speaking, you're right. Money and time don't have to be donated. It certainly would be indicative of "good character and morale" if Cody stopped SAYING how appreciative he is of Carlsbad and started showing us more than his big 'ol Jock self holding a baby and waving like the Queen at onlookers and gawkers that are filled with wonder by celebrity.

Jealous? Probably so! I'd like to have the opportunity to give or NOT give back to a community that is so vital to my image and popularity.

what do you do

He is a good influence just by his perseverence and efforts. He was judged too small to play pro ball, was injured and out for a season, was traded into bad situation several times. Never publicly complained or whinned. Or blamed others for where he was, just stepped up and kept working. That is a great example.
What does he owe the town? Gratitude, does that mean money; I don't think so. Everyone has the same opportunities; use them or don't. But stop whinning.
You say you would like to have the opportunity to give or not to give! Everyone has that chance. You don't have to be rich or famous or a ballplayer. Look around, give of your time and energy, help someone instead of knocking everything and everyone.

OK!! Here we go!

I agree with you that "effort and perseverence" (sp) are qualities provided for in a "good influence". I also applaud your obvious Cody research and your strident defense of his giving nothing back to Carlsbad.

"Everyone has that chance. You don't have to be rich or famous or a ballplayer. Look around, give of your time and energy, help someone instead of knocking everything and everyone". This statement is in complete support of my contention. Thank you! Forward this to Cody's Publicist!

As far as "everyone having the same opportunities" goes, you really don't believe THAT do you?!!?!! Reality has proven time and again that "everyone having the same opportunities" is a myth. You and I most likely don't have the money Cody does. We wouldn't have his expertise in conducting say, a batting practice for the Girls Softball team or a Teamwork session for the Band or Building Trades students.

One more little detail. I have not engaged in "knocking everything and everyone". I volunteer and donate locally. But the draw, appeal and celebrity of Cody Ross has the potential to make a difference for many of the young people here. So I'm not "knocking" everyone. I'm knocking Cody. I'm not "knocking" everything. I'm knocking Cody.
