Cornell University Flunks Fracking

Apr 13, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Motley Fool

It's been a big year for Cornell University. Its Big Red wrestling team spent lots of time atop the nation's rankings -- a tall hill to climb for an Ivy League school in any sport.

I think they should keep the headline and change the story.I have seen reviews of the article by the Clean Air Task Force, MIT Energy Initiative, and Council on Foreign Affairs. Comments ranged from: the research deviated from what are accepted standards, the data is really bad coupled with unforgivable methodology flaws, and the peer reviewers missed the ball.

I don't understand why an Ag School such as Cornell would get involved in this area. There is no drilling in NY State and no expertese. It seems like only yesterday their critics figured out the difference between fracking and drilling. Frankly I have to laugh when I hear environmentalists claim we need to ban that new method of drilling called hydrofracking. I think they should leave the hydrofracturing to the experts who have been doing it for over 60 years.

Cornell is noted for bird watchers and tourists.
Drilling for oil and gas requires expertise which Cornell does not have.
No prestige!!!!!

Go ahead and drill and if they don't like it then don't use the gas and oil because I will.
