Does anyone have any insight to all of the recent power outages in a large area of southeast Aurora? We've moved here in the last 2 weeks and the whole area has lost power, for an extended time, at least four times that I know of.

Once again Exel Energy is showing us the way of the future. Expect more. Rolling Blackouts are devised to allow Exel Energy not to invest in needed equipment and reserves while charging its customer more and more, for less and less reliable service. End result - more money for the Execs to pocket.

Someone in their dispatch department screwed up and failed to respond to the weather forecast.

A couple of years ago, Xcel Energy spent in excess of 70 million ( that's 70,000,000.00) for the naming rights to the hockey stadium in Minneapolis. Now the Minnesota Wild play in Xcel Stadium.
Last year, Xcel paid their former CEO Wayne Brunetti in excess of 4 million plus other perks as a retirement bonus.
Something here is broken. It seems to me that Xcel needs to spend some of this obviously "excess" on strengthening their infrastructure, ensuring us more reliable elec. and gas supply.
The Colorado Public Utilities Commission has oversight of the utilities here in Colorado and I suggest you write or call the Denver office of the Commission to express the disappointment and distrust we all feel.

I have written to the PUC, the response I recieved defended Xcel and their prices. I was told that due to the hurricanes, gas prices increased and that there was nothing the PUC could do to lower them. Again, I feel like I am being held hostage and have to make sacrifices just to keep my family warm.

The PUC and Xcel are in bed together so don't expect any oversight. Wayne has them bought and paid for.

I dont understand why they have to do this when its cooled outside We pay to much to public service for us not to have power and so what if they have people from other cities we should have our power back so not are they going to give us a discount on our services I mean they take from us and dont give back but a cool.So yes I'm upset about the whole damm thing.
