I have not been able to purchase Velamints and would like to know if the product is available.

I was getting my favorite chocolate fix at Trader Joe's in Roseville CA. I was advised they are no longer available. I do know they were produced by a subsidary of Wrigley, the chewing gum folks. I sent an email query from their website www.wrigley.com

When Wrigley bought out Velamints, they decided to discontinue them. I used to be able to get them by the case at candydirect.com but now they've run out. I'm so sad as I love the vanilla ones so much. I'm on my last box... Let's beseige Wrigley 'till them bring 'em back!

I bought a pack for my Dad last Christmas and now he wants more, E-bay is the only place I could find them...at $7.99 a tin, Chocolate Mint. Do wholesalers carry them?

Did you know there is another company that has vanilla mints? I've had them & they're good. Myntz! Vanillamynt Blast Breath Mints. I've recently checked trader joe's where I got them in the past and they don't have that flavor. "Candy Direct" is selling a product identical to velamints; it's called "Vela Chocolate". Check their web site at candydirect.com . I have tasted it and cannot tell the difference.

My daughter-in-law found a more better packaged solution than that offered by candydirect.com . My son, who was a chocolate Velamint addict, swears they are better than the original. Try the sugar-free chocolate version of Hint Mints, readily available at a very reasonable price in little tins from Amazon. You can buy them in a two-pack, each box holding 12 little tins of them -- and the price is WAY cheaper than the paper bags of Re Velas offered by candydirect.(Hardly suitable packaging for little mints, that.) You even get free shipping from Amazon to boot, since the 2-pack is just over $25.
