The contract of Jim Ross is about to expire. WWE rumors have made it sound as though the long-time announcer is on his way out of the company.

Ross responded to this talk in his latest blog:

I am in hopes of re-signing with the WWE and talks are on going. I dont see any immediate issues on the negotiation horizon. This is another story that has taken a life of its own and many internet sites have written about it as if they know exactly what is going on, but none of them have talked to me about it, which should illustrate that there are times when some sites simply take a rumor and run with it as fact.

My goal is to continue to work for the WWE, but if that were not to work out, I still have plenty to do to keep me busy. My wrestling career has been a blessed one that I would have never envisioned over 30 years ago, but all things have to come to an end at some point. Our Bar-B-Q biz is going to continue to grow as we hope to start rolling out more store stores in 2008 and plan on building several stores over the next few years.

JR isnt done. He'll continue to broadcast WWE for a bit longer, I think. Unless story line makes him retire....but I don't see that happining.

I agree. Raw without JR would not be the same, but the guy is not getting any younger. Sooner or later JR will retire and there will have to be a new voice for Raw. I think when the time does come, Michael Cole should be the one to take his place, as the interaction in the past with King has been good and with time could be great. I hated JBL as a wrestler(although loved all the APA skits) but I have to admit he is a great colour commentator, so he should stay on SD. Im not sure who would fit in as play-by-play on SD, but I think they should be thinking about this now, maybe having somebody do P-b-P in developmental. As it said during the hall of fame this year, I believe it was HHH. They were talking about Gordon Solie, and Jr was saying he was the man; but HHH said NO- you are the man!!

Now why would they voluntarily remove JR? They, if any reason, would only give him up if JR wants to or if he is incappable to continue his job. Just like any other wrestler.

F*ck JR off. He's done his job, it's time for him to move on. The amount of times he screws up per match - PER MATCH - about the history of the wrestlers in appaling!! I dunno if it's his ahlzimers or whatever but he can't remember too well anymore. Kudos on your years with the WWE, you have been honoured and will never be forgotten, but the best know when it's the right time to pass the mic Jim...
