We need to get our act together! Why are their movie and music and truck preference threads popping up??

Why can't we talk wrestling???

even old stuff will do! Here is some conversation starers!

The Montreal Screw Job
The Monday Night Wars
Compare ECW to WWE to WCW
Wrestlers who are good in ring performers and why they should get pushed.
Great matches and why they were great
Internet links to funny/awesome/crazy wrestling stories/articals/videos.

Lets get on this all-freaking-ready.

No more useless or repeated threads.
If someone has a wrestling related thread post on it!
How many times do I have to sat it?
TOPIX DOES NOT MATTER. No one cares about if you are a TOPIX star or not! Its not about topix or music or fords or chevies or how much you want to grope Shawn or even how much you want to kill Cena!
it is about wrestling.

as editor can you kill crappy topics?

also...did you notice that everything I have done (encourage wrestling conversations 5+ times, and got rid of TB Chief) hasn't really changed anything?

the leader in the pole is that people don't care and only want to talk about crap. Also, the main stories on the board right now are not wrestling related?

Frick.

Thank you for being the first and only person to ever acknowledge what I am trying to do here.

Tellin' it like it is from Cloverdale! Alright my neighboor, let's get to it!

I just bought a book callde "The Rise and Fall of ECW." Although I havent read it yet, it looks to paint a pretty good picture of how the old days of ECW sued to be. The only thing is, that their incredible and dangerous hardcore style always overshadows the technical ability present in many of its mid-carders. You always see Sabu, Dreamer, Sandman on the covers, but rarely do you see Guerrero, Malenko, even Taz, who had quite a lot of in-ring ability, is never what first jumps into the mind when you think of ECW. It's a real shame too, because ECW is really what started the "smark" era that we have today. Technical wrestling would've stayed in Mexico and Japan if it weren't for ECW exposing it to America and the farther reaches of the world of wrestling

wow johnny! you seem really irritated...but hey i'm a little dissapointed myself.this is supposed to be a wrestling forum but everywhere you look...there goes a silly poll.now i admit one of my own threads led to one of those polls(fastest rising star!),but at the time i saw some of the other topics and i figured...hey,everyone seems like they like they are free spirited,so why not just have some fun.i don't feel that topix has that same "umpgh" to it that it had when i first uncovered it back in the spring.the svr forum is dead..no one goes there, and once again a bunch of non wrestling threads are poping up.the main reason i and probably many of you come to topix is because it's not one dimensional(ther are other forums besides wrestling+you have polls) and above all else....IT'S FREE!!!

Yeah I've always noticed that, but never really looked at it that way. There's an indy promotion about 20 minutes away from where I live. XCW (X-treme Championship Wrestling, knockoff much), and I love to go see their shows. Hell for only $10 who wouldn't go? Anyway, they're known for their super hardcore matches, basically everything ECW did. The only problem is, there's absolutely no good technicians. People are so blinded by all the Holy Sh*t stuff, they don't realize that they're not really watching wrestling. Every match is a spotfest. It's still very entertaining, but it's sad really. ECW could have extreme matches without going hardcore. That's what I think is cool about it.

Actually, about killing threads, I take that back. I can fill out a form asking to delete bad threads, users, etc. I got a lot of forms to fill out.

"Hardbody" Harrison Norris went on trial yesterday in Atlanta for having sex slaves in his home working as prostitutes. Eight women were held against their will and pimped by "Hardbody" who is down on his luck after his racial discrimination lawsuit against pro wrestling failed. "Hardbody" claims that he kept the women at his house to "teach them how to wrestle not how to be prostitutes". The trial continues as witness after witness testifies against the fallen star.

Yes! Thank you, that's exactly what I'm talking about! A wrestling match is more than just two spot0whores in a ring jumping around a bunch and doing crazy stuff! A ton of these indy promotions are simpley trying to capture the old ECW fame by leaping off of balconies and onto tables. But without guys like Guerrero, Benoit, Mysterio, Jericho and tons of others (including Super Crazy) these promotions are just promoters of spot matches. The guys that watch that stuff and say it's awesome are they same guys who yell "boring" during a classic technical match between Punk and Joe (sorry, still sore after hearing that, some dumbass yelled that during one of the best matches I've ever seen)

WWE can't remake ECW, none of the indies can remake ECW, nobody can remake ECW, so why try? Look at ROH, hands down the best indy, isn't focusing on the hardcore, but instead focusing on the technical side! ROH is not ECW, and they're not trying to be. Apparently they're the only ones getting the message that ECW is over

ROH. Yes. Quality wrestling. They're not afraid to take risks, many singles matches are lightyears beyond many gimmick matches the WWE puts on. ROH may not be a new ECW, and as you said no promotion ever will be, but it's definitely got something ol ECW did have. It has a lot of heart. I've never seen more of a loyal fanbase, who has such a true passion for wrestling like the ROH fans do. They, unlike many indie, and private promotions nowadays, actually care, except for the rare few who are blinded by there markness who can't see what a true wrestling masterpeice is. I believe wrestling can actually be an art. Like the beauty, and excellence of Joe vs Punk II, wrestling can truly be a work of art if the match/image is painted carefully, and expertly.

one question about roh;i've read a lot of positive things about roh.i've never seen it,i used to see promotional ads for it,but the thing that turned me off was you had to pay to see something that you've never seen before, never heard of anyone in there.so my question is,do you still have to order it on ppv,are there any familiar faces, what IYO is THE best thing about roh

Yeah, you can buy ppvs, I'm afraid there's not many familiar faces there like there used to be. People from TNA and WWE had wrestlers there. Guerrero, Benoit, Punk, Joe, Daniels, etc. But very few are left, and I'm afraid I don't know whay IYO is.

ROTF because of "and i'm afraid i don't know what iyo is"
well i figured since imo means in my opinion then i would use iyo for in your opinion.

that makes me think i'm still not familiar with all the "web terms" so to speak,so maybe you or anyone else can enlighten me.thanks!

So much love and effort. You want the day to be a big success, and it's going to be that way. You'll be very popular if you can bring some spontaneity to the day, such as springing an exciting surprise on everyone or swapping a tired old tradition for something much more interesting.
