Sorry.. I think I might know where you were going with this and it is actually a good idea. If we had someone (John Cena) come in as champ and act like Shane Douglass that would rock!
The problem is that the environment has changed. WWE changed everything there ever was about the old ECW and I am pretty sure we will never see anything like it ever again. not to mench all of the fans from back then HATE cena and not for teh reasons that we all "hate" heels. They hate him because he represented a lot of crap that vinnimac presented and he just wasn't as entertaining to watch as 98% of the old mid-card matches on the old ECW.

Cena would probably not change his character or list of moves if he was in ECW and it would suck as bad as having Lashly as champ.

Unless ECW originals hold the title or it is at least defended in exstream rules matches only, it holds no credibility to true ECW fans.

i hope nobody actually thinks cena as ECW champion would work, but its possible, somewhere in the world, there is a charlie haas fan, with all his merchandise on their wall..somewhere
