Totally agree with Alfred W. Evans. Even have all 12-13 year old girls fitted with the 5-year birth control device because too many un-wed mothers and dad does nothing to support the child--left up to "we the taxpayer.
Sterilize all illegal immigrants--especially those having children here in the US--"we the taxpayer" paying for all these "legal" babies of illegals--but shouldn't we get a vote on how many we have to support since we are the "third parent--the one paying all the bills".
Make sterilization FREE to everyone who wants it--we do not need more unwanted babies.
All foreign aid to poor countries should include birth control--for example, they have babies they cannot raise but want us to feel guilty enough to send money and food--wrong. We are just encouraging bad behavior --similar to our welfare system.
Lets save $30 million a year by constitutional amendment to reduce the number of US Senators and Congressmen to half what it is today. With today's communication, tv, planes, computer, etc. we do not NEED that many.
Do an honest review (similar to BRAC) to see which Federal agencies could be done away with--way too many but they never go away--immortal.
Stop all Federal Grants until honest review--many are a waste and a reward to "friends".

Sarah is a ray of sunshine? To most Americans she comes off as snarky, mean-spirited, and bitter.

Capable? We've seen not much evidence of that. She seems to have become a serial quitter, unwilling to finish a term if things get "rough".

Loyal American Patriot? Aren't most Americans, this hardly makes her exceptional. Or is the implication that there are others on the political scene who aren't loyal and patriotic?

GarColga, how do you know how Sarah Palin "comes off" to "most Amreicans"? Have you done a poll of "most Americans" or can you site a poll that indicates that Sarah Palin comes off as "snarky, mean-spirited and bitter" to "most Americans"?

How do you know you are not one of "least Americans" to whom Sarah Palin comes off as "snarky, mean-spirited and bitter"?

Hi mostamericans. Most Americans do not like her, her approval ratings are very low and her disapproval ratings are very high. Then some that do like her don't think she is qualified to be president. Quit watching Fox and don't be so uninformed.

I think we diffently need to do something and one of my ideas is to have state stores, grocery and clothing and fill them with what we want them to eat and wear. In the stores will be babysitting, a job for the mothers and fathers while other parents work in the stores. The debit cards we so happily give them will only work in state stores, not in cash machines. Who thought that one up. They will learn how to take care of children, stock shelves, run a register and count change etc. As for birth control, yes we need to stop the unwanted kids in this world. I think if you have been on welfare or have a drug, alcohol for more than two years your tubes get tied and yes boys your unit is fixed too. It seems that the boys never have to pay the consequences of their actions. Anyone that has no children can go to work for the government doing whatever the government says they need done. If they do a good job they get paid, if not not money that week. I think if you make it hard for people to be on welfare they will figure out a new way to survive, like getting a job. Thanks for listening, RoJo

sarah palin is a loser, she quit being gov. she attended 4 schools. she claims to be a soccer mom but she is the bread winner. the only way to have soccer moms is to have soccer paying fees dads. she is uninformed she uses the same lame ass arguments over and over. how would u feel if Obama would have attended 4 low level colleges instead of the elite schools and one of his teenage daughters had a baby, you would be rpping him a new asshole. Redneck lovers always find the right in white. black ice, black hat etc. sarah is not a ray of sunshine what has she done, was she in the military; no. did she complete her term of office ;no. does she even read anything; no. got off her money grabing butt. all she is doing is getting rich off of you dummies.

I think Alfred is on to something. But I think we should sterilize all racist white men and women. That would help solve the Sarah Palin problem as well.

If we don't allow redneck, racists to reproduce, there would be less Alfreds and D's in the world

I agree with all EXCEPT, give the men a vascectomy. The surgury is safer, less painful recovery and is easier to reverse. I am trying to reverse the idea that it is the woman's fault when a pregnancy occurs. Stop trying to control the woman gender with hormones. Get the man involved and something will really happen to change the system!

The top of this page is very misleading, as Alfred W. Evans' excellent letter had nothing to do with Sarah Palin.

Evans' excellent letter advocating self-reliance and taking responsibility for our own actions was well thought out and eminently sensible.

Whoever wrote that silliness about Palin being a ray of sunshine wrote like a junior high girl swooning over the high school quarterback.

Something got garbled somewhere.

Mr evans is about one thing , He is about getting the billions of dollars we as taxpayers spend on welfare reduced.
welfare used to be for folks who needed a hand up not a hand out.
it used to be a social stigma to be on welfare and now it's a social status to see how many babies you can have to see how big of check you can get.
There are familys that for multiple generations
lived on welfare and wic and food stamps.
Multiple generations who have never held a job because they can get the govt. to pay for everything they need.
That's not right. if you get laid off and need assistance untill you find another job ,Thats what unemployment is for . If you won't go find a job then see mr evans post.

Welfare has become "more greed than need!" most states don't/can't verify the "clients" information.(Rent, income, occupants in the household, child support, etc...) The state workers are in a decline, not being replaced. So we sit back and let this happen. fraud, liars and generational repeaters are ruining the system and wasting tax payers money. The clients should have a limited $amount available per family for a short time period..

Good grief! Have you read what you wrote here? Let me guess: From the syntax, spelling, and non-sequiturs, you never finished high school - right? You read no books, but watch cartoons on TV; the only news you get is what your friends tell you; your either divorced or married to one unhappy woman; you can't name the fifty states, and you don't know who your representative is - or who the is vice president of the United States. Truthfully, now, do you know how a bill is passed in your state legislature? Didn't think so. Can you locate Iraq, or Iran, or Brazil on a map (clue: they're not in the United States)? Didn't think so.
And, yet, you criticize a woman who'd beat you at any intellectual challenge - and certainly even hunting! Please don't tell me that you vote. Please tell me that you're just smart enough to know you're not qualified.

A long time ago, there was an earnest plea from a "FAMILY with Lymes Disease." Most of the material contained in the family's blog appealing for help is contained in the "Put me in charge" e-mails. As the multitude of comments about this e-mail attest, this 21 year old female either "has a great plan!" or has been bashed around for that plan and it's solutions. This lady's opinion ONLY agrees with a newspaper article in the Waco Tribune-Herald.

The author of this opinion letter, not a real plan with real solutions, has already identified himself as Alfred W. Evans in his letter to the Waco Tribune-Herald and is also posted in this discussion. He also wrote to TheVeteransVoice.com and SILENCEDOGOOD2010'S BLOG, which was reposted on BlackShards, and thanked them for posting his letter. "I googled “Put me in charge” and found it on many sites. Thanks again for getting what I consider common sense out to the people." This 21 year old female is receiving credit for your plan and your solution, Mr. Evans. Most of the heat and derogatory remarks are directed toward her and not to you, Mr. Evans. Do you care that this is happening? Why do you allow this to continue on this way? Better her than you? Some military operations use intelligence and deception to accomplish their mission. Food for thought. More on this further down below.
