Sears' problem stems from the fact that they want way too much for what they sell. in other words, they are pricing themselves out of the market. This has happened to others. It is cheaper to go elsewhere for some of the same products.

Sears problems go way beyond what they charge. It also has to do with ethics. I started participating in a rewards program but my email box became flooded with emails. I opted out and was informed it would take up to ten days for my request to be honored. It does not take ten days to honor an opt out request. They never honored the request so since I use Microsoft Office Email, I blocked their entire domain and had their emails deleted off the server before they ever got in my inbox. Guess what, I then started getting the emails from Kmart. I opted out there, was again told that it would take up to ten days to remove me. Not so, I blocked the entire domain. I had a similar problem with Sears years ago regarding telemarketing. They made it their life's work to call every hour and I finally got my script out, sent them a registered letter instructing them to never call again. The idiots then called to verify my request. I filed a complaint on them and they stopped. Today, they sent an email, now 12 weeks later from another domain to get through. I have contacted Morgan and Morgan. Any one with a similar claim also needs to do so because we need to collect while this company still has money. This company is so financially unsound that many of their display items on the floor and from suppliers are financed. A major lender CIT halted loans to sears. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/13/us-...
I see a desperate company acting like a desperate company. CIT had a reason for halting loans.
