Walmart Bonus

James in Tampa, you work right aways from me, I'm a Valrico store worker.

Yeah, just about everything comes out of the bonus check. Accidents, low sales, those cute "cook outs" they have when they announce low bonuses, store use items, losses, thefts (even though they're insured), etc. I know for a fact that the last yearly bonus we got, the store manager got $1600 because he told us in the meeting when we got our ($400) bonus check. This year, they decided to do quarterly bonuses, and two of them we didn't get (even though our sales were "top in the district"), the other two were $36 and (coming soon)$60. Yay for quarterly bonuses?

This is only my second year at Wal-Mart, but AFAIK the managers are pretty corrupt when it comes to associate benefits. The new store policies put unreasonable demands on workers (like, if you are sick for two days, you only get paid for one, despite having "full" sick pay.). But what can a person do, other than quit?

Okay, enough rambling from this disillusioned worker.

Oh yeah, last year we were, ahem, "#1 in the District" (which, no matter what store I go to, they always say), and we got that $400 bonus and a steak dinner. The manager heard the dissent in the ranks that Causeway, a nearby store, had gotten $1200 and a pizza party, even though they were lower in profit and higher in accidents (acc. to the print outs available in the lobby.) After huffing around for a few minutes, he finally said, "Well, at least you got a steak party, all they got was takeout pizza."

O_o I'd have rather had the extra $800 than overcooked Great Value steaks cooked on company time (bet that came out of the bonus too!)

When is the holiday bonus supposed to be appended? I'm trying to give my family an acceptable Christmas and I need to know dates.

I work at a Walmart in Tucson and my bonus this year was around $17.00 for the Christmas season. We were originally promised $245 each for full-timers; then it went down to $47. Now, according to my check, it's around $17.00.

I'm very, very upset with this. I feel betrayed by the company.

Wow, $17.00. I've only been working as a cart pusher (the only one they have right now) for three months. Maybe I can get a coke atleast.

The Wal-Scum bonus goes to top management.
If you people were smart you would form a union...yes a union something the Wal-Scum CBL's try to brainwash it's workers or ASSosiates from think for themselves.
Wal-Scum is a Comunist company dealing only with China and other sweatshop counties.

In Jan our store was toldthat the full time associates would recieve $1,000 bonus then in Feb was told $499 because of the payouts in injury's and such. Yes if there are injury's, or if your store had a renovation, this comes out of your bonus. Supposedly all bonus's will now be given quarterly starting in June. How this is going to be based beats me but I have been told about $30 to $50 each quarter and of course it will be on your regular paycheck so the taxes will be higher on it.
I don't know about your store, but ours has been on quarterly bonus' since last october, but like you said it all depends on what the store makes and how much is paid out in accidents, I think it should come out of the managers bonus', after all they are the ones who are suppose to keep it safe for us to work.

I don't know about your store, but ours has been doing quarterly bonus' since october of 2007, I think anything that has to be paid out because of injuries or repairs to equipment should come out of the managers bonus, after all he is responsible for everything that goes on in their stores. our new manager is a total ....head, its his way or the highway and he treats his co-managers and asst managers like dirt. he has no respect for anyone or what they think or feel, the only good thing about him is he made up my mind for me to go back to college so I can get out of there for good. I only have 18 more months to go hooray!!!!!!

I asked our co-manager that same question the other day, caught him off guard I think lol, he hemmed and hawwed for a while then said nobody got the million, he said that the company didn't meet its sales total that they wanted so they cut the bonus in half and gave it to some store in indiana. what a crock that is!

I'd like to think i'd at least get a little bit of a bonus from the store i work at but i dont know, I've been there since March of 2007 but haven't worked 2000 hours, I Work about 32 hours a week with a few weeks in between working 40 hours a week,
It'd be nice to get one seeing as i have no chance to get full time, Our store is a rip-off and does not give Code 98's (Cart Pushers) The chance to become Full Time no matter how long they have been there So theres alot of stuff i wont even get.

So can anyone actually post the full requirements for being eligable for the end of year bonus?

I read the post about 6 months - 2000 hours. But that logic doesnt make sense to me, for 2 reasons.

Reason 1: 2000 hours is 50 weeks at 40 hours a week. Which is close to a years worth of work. So how could a 6 month employee ever hope to get it?

Reason 2: My store manager told us all within the last week that most of us would qualify for this years end of year bonus. And the store has only been open 7 months. And there are only 3 people on third shift that transfered in from another store.

So I am curious to know the exact requirements to get this bonus.

Thanks

My wife (Assistant Manager) will receive her yearly bonus on March 20th. She just found out today that although the total amount is $2600, she is only receiving $330 on her paycheck! My question is how in the world could 85% be deducted from the bonus amount? Please help....

Our store maxed out, we were expecting a nice bonus! However, our store is going through a remodel, so we got no bonus!!!! The warehouse to store product or what ever, is costing $63,000, that came out of the stores bonuses! Great huh?

Same here. We got a $255 bonus (max). We are suppose to get a "catch-up" bonus on our next check, but I'm not sure because we have a remodel coming up as well. What bullshit that is.
