So can we assume this press release on "walmart's biggest push to improve factory safety" on April 9th was just a very sad coincidence two weeks before the next major factory accident?

It would appear their press release patting themselves on the back for improving factory safety was a bit premature at best. They are great at executing press releases - the don't seem to be quite as good at making any actual real changes. They may need to issue another press release on what their next far reaching agenda for the advancement of factory safety is going to be. Maybe the should consider waiting until they have actually done something before they issue a press release on how great it will be for the factories. There are a few hundred factory workers in Bangladesh that would probably disagree with their last press release.

WalDumb improve safety? That is a laugh. How many times are they sued every year for something stupid in their stores? It's kinda like President Clinton giving advice on fidelity in marriage.
From my experience, they talk a lot and actually do very little. They would run over their mothers if they could save a penny on buying a product. Then they turn it over to purchasing people to push inventory to the stores with little to no rhyme or reason. The stores that are struggling with too much inventory actually get more thrown their way and the store management is blamed for not managing it correctly. Have seen it a dozen times.
