I am a former team member of Whole Foods and so was my husband to be. He died at 45 because of diabetic complications. Not long after, I found Joslin Diabetes Center. An institution dedicated to research for the answer and cure. With the knowledge I gained, I approached Whole Foods from store level to corporate. I merely asked for a meeting and was hopeful that Whole Foods and Joslin Diabetes Center would agree to a simple request. It was to support this organization for a day. An event meshing the two and making a difference. I was thrilled that I got close, but not close enough. Whole Foods dodged Joslin and made me a fool. It was as if I was auditioning for a role and the casting director was busy reading the trades.
I have almost given up, but I won't. I refuse to give up on Salvatore Campanile, my loved one. He was proud to work for Whole Foods. I also was. I want to make Sal proud. I want Whole Foods to spend time being supportive instead of being touted and supported.
