How about giving warning-tickets until the parking issues work themselves out?

>Novato police had a strong presence on the streets, including a motorcycle officer camped out at Reichert and Grant, a parking officer chalking car tires while riding on a motorized tricycle and several others on foot.

a plea to novato police department. please don't screw up the euphoria over the opening of whole foods by hassling people with parking tickets. a little restraint might be the order of the day.

Lame. Whole Foods is no longer that cool trendy store. Don't kid yourself. They are big time business now. I find it depressing. We have a bunch of fantastic independently owned markets in marin but we keep letting the big monsters in. I hope they go down the toilet. I just hope they don't take the little guys with them. I hope all of you that shop there enjoy padding the pockets of the already rich.

Produce from Mexico and frozen veggies from China. Make mine Good Earth, Mill Valley Market, and Marin Farmer's Markets.

The traffic in the area is a complete nightmare. I can't imagaine the residents in the area are very pleased with the Whole Foods complex. The prices were insane, by the way. I now know why it is dubbed "Whole Paycheck"! Thankfully the farmer's market will be here soon.

Agreed. Whole Paycheck sucks! Support local businesses who support local communities, not Wal-Mart-esque gluttons.

I agree, it was crazy. I saw what almost was 2 accidents and quite a few oblivious pedestrians. The police should be concentrating on safety issues instead of parking tickets.

Whole Foods is only lipstick on a pig - the Millworks STILL sucks. As for the market, thanks for turning my neighborhood into a traffic nightmare. Not all of us are pleased to have you in town - I know the developers and yuppies are.

NPD aren't known for their tact, nor their ability recognize that discretion is the better part of valor. Hell, they once tried to pull over a Marin sheriff's car rolling code 3 through Novato while the deputy was responding to a call in County jurisdiction! Friend of mine transferred from SFPD where he had 20+ years to work for NPD because he lived there. Lasted about a month before he said, "WTF"? and went back to SFPD!

These negative responses are most likely coming from bitter old people who always have to bitch about something because they're retired and bored.

Whole Foods F'ing rocks. Thank God we have a better grocery store in our town now. If you want better quality, then you pay for it.. plain and simple.

Well, I suppose for those in Novato Whole Foods is a big thing! Traffic is a problem at the Mill Valley store, too, but with the second store opening more parking will be available. The prices are a little steep. I prefer Trader Joe's for chain-store shopping, and the farmers' markets. If I really want to go for the good food at high prices, nothing beats Paradise Market in Corte Madera. Great barbque in the spring and summer months, too. Actually, that is my store of choice.

You're right on the produce-right from Mexico--love the fertilizer, butwhere on earth can you interact with such anel customers?

And for parking tickets--what would marin cops do--if not for cheesy tickets?
Great store

They love to knock any one or any place. Hello Novato and welcome Whole foods. They say china and i say move there as i will buy your ticket if you take your scum with you. These stupid people spend the day on the computer and comment on everything and know nothing except drugs and booze. We don't need you here move on !!!!! Support Whole foods as me and my neighbors do big time.

Many of Whole Foods packaged goods are made under contract by companies that also make them for Trader Joe's, but with different labels and different prices. Approximately 40% cheaper at TJ's.

Trader Joe's like Whole Foods, used to buy food from China. People were so mad and complained so much they stopped doing so. Whole Foods puts up defiant posters praising themself for 'sourcing from around the world'.
