Arby's boss chows down on Wendy's

There goes the "beef"!

Well, hopefully they don't change too much. Of all the fast food places, I prefer Wendy's over all the others.

All of the Arby's are dumps. I can't believe they would have enough money to buy all the Wendy's. Maybe they should spend it on cleaning up their own restaurants.

This is. literally, yesterday's news! What is up ABJ? Come up with a snappy headline and reprint the story?
Personally, I liked the whole "Arby's shallows Wendy's" thing ya had goin' on yesterday. Not sure what ya meant by that though... |

Article lead quote:
"Ohio founder's daughter says $2 billion deal is sad for family." At 2 billion, how can she be sad? As the founder's daughter, didn't she (help) AUTHORIZE the deal? Don't you love it when winners act like victims? (Maybe her world is shaped like a heart-clogging Wendy's TRIPLE...) |

Kent Chipotle.

Early in Wendy's history, it was privately owned. However, at some point, Wendy's went public. Being the daughter of the founder does not give her control of the company. Wendy's is the best of the worst, in my opinion. The only fast-food hamburger chain I'd consider buying from. I hope it doesn't change much. Arby's is awful. I also hope some of the corporate employees remain in Dublin. |

This is sad and Mr. Dave Thomas is turning over in his Grave, Goes to show that this country is NOTHING but Big Business Concerned...whatever company has the most bucks and can buy out any/everybody they can.(Yes I know it's called free enterprise, only the strong survive and all that CRAP!!)
What I am talking about is the fact that there is no regard that the patriarch of Wendy's started this business wiht his own money, built it up through his own sweat/tears/money & time, Just to have those that came after him muck it up (then blame it all on the economy) Hell, if Mr Thomas kept it going through the late 70's and earliy 80's the now powers that be should be able to do the same. Especially since the new powers are better? educated. Oh I forgot it's all about the shareholders isn't it, gotta keep the profits high for them, so since we hit some rogh patches, guess we better sell. Well, Dave, glad your not here to see this, your dream and vision is no longer. But who knows maybe someday Wndy's will return and become the giant that has now gobbled them up, hum? is that really good?? |

All of the "fast food" places are going in the dumps. There is no such thing as service, much less courteous service, the food is getting worse, all of the restaurants are pig stys (wait, I think a pig sty is cleaner!) and they don't have any kind of management. That's why I stay home.

Remember when Wendy's gave the free frosty a couple of years ago? That was Dave Thomas' style business. Arby's are junk, overpriced, and poorly run. Eat at home.

Wendy's was ripe for a takeover, as they have been having trouble for years. Back in 1986, nearly 20% of Wendy's stores were failing. There have been several large closures of Wendy's franchise groups in the last few years. They closed their Australian operations and the WenAmerica franchise group went bankrupt and closed fifty locations in the midwest.

It depends on how much of the stock she owns. Go to Yahoo finance and see how much is stock is owned by insiders. Probably not a big percentage. |

Their so-called "roast beef" is nothing more than a loaf of pressed together lunch meat. I remember from my Ohio days when there was an Arby's near Akron Square accross from Red's bar I think. This was the late 60s, and an Arby's was 69 cents, which would be about 5 bucks in today's dollars. It was however real roast beef. The quality has long since been downgraded to compete in the fast food arena. |

Mrs. Kerri Anderson (President and CEO) is top individual stockholder. She owns 180,000 shares worth about 22 bucks each, so she will realize about 20 million from the deal.
