It was announced on Friday that Wal-Mart is ending their profit sharing plan for employee.Anyone want to predict when Walgreens will follow suit? I can imagine how it will be presented-"The industry is changing...We need to save on expenses...The new plan will allow employees to save even more for their retirement..."

It is hard to see them doing away with it when they place so much emphasis on getting employees to join.

the match may not be as good as it once was (3 to 1) but Walgreens is still going to keep it

if im not mistaken, companies must offer some form of retirement but are not required to offer any match.... my question is this: is walmart not offering retirement (maybe im wrong on them offering retirement) or are they just no longer matching

They will still have a retirement plan, but it won't be a profit sharing plan

They are doing a really strong push to get every person into the program. They will not get rid of it or the matches. They may change the matches again, but a lot of pharmacists would leave if they changed it.

I love to. The plan is as follow get rid of tech and rph as many as we can and keep the best of the best who could work like dogs all day long and don't complaine. One Rph One tech fill 500Rx's per day. How does that sounds to you MWM???

I keep seeing some of these posts from people not happy working for their employers. If you are not happy there, go find another job. No one force you to work there. And if you continue to work there, then dont whine about it. The effort you spent being whiney and unhappy can be use to be more productive at work. The grass is not always greener on the other side. You have a job compare to millions of unemployed Americans.

It looks like, according to my calculations on the company matching of 2010, that Walgreens matched $2.75 for every $1 the employee put in. Not bad at all.
