I am an ovetnighter and if you have never worked thirds its not easy. we r not nocturnal naturally. i would say at least two thirds of my employees have had to quit because they could not physically function on our schedule. it tanks your immune system. i have 7 days to decide wether to take the paycut or go to days. I might go to days just to be normal again.
It's a bit easier if you're single and live alone (or at least have no kids) and can darken your bedroom to where you can trick your mind into thinking it's night. Melatonin also helps. On those days that I'm off I find myself waking up very early in the morning hours (i.e. 4am-5am). Thankfully I love mornings.

Wow, I haven't looked at this thread in a couple months. I walked off my job at Walgreens back in June and found a much better job. My life is a total 180 from where it was six months ago. I thought the economy was so bad and that there weren't any job openings out there. It turns out that the job I wanted was unadvertised. Now I make more an hour than MGT's do/did. And to think now I do 1/10 of the work for more than what MGT's make. I can't believe I ever wanted to be promoted into that position. lol

That's good news Throb (kinda) i just got offered the SFL @ my store too ! I'm taking it of course, but it's only because it's what's next. Like you i'm going to be looking for a way out of Walgreens and am hoping it will be something more lucrative like you found. I know the SFL is a crock and a load of work but i could use the raise in pay not to mention it might be nice to put on my resume'.

Take what is being offered. Opportunities don't always repeat themselves. Was an MGT, was recently re-titled (along with the pay reduction)as an SFL. While disappointed with the loss in pay, still think that this Company is more stable (and will most likely remain so in lower levels) than any other Retailer out there. Read the other Retailer's Blogs before making any rash decisions. While things are frustrating at the moment, at least we're complaining about the work, rather than looking for it.

That's making the best of the situation.

I still implore anyone out there who's still working at Wag's and hating it to keep working but actively look for more opportunities in the meantime. You have no clue how much happier I am at my new job.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
