Here is a fact. Straight from DM. You will learn about restructuring at the market roadshow with the MVP. Nothing until then. Stores will get new payroll budgets this weekend. DM's are not allowed to tell.

I am not him/her but their point is we dont have any info to spill.I had my dm in my store yesterday and he must have said 10 times,wait for the roadshow meeting.

The only thing he let out was after hearing everything it was not as bad as he envisioned.I dont know what that means at all since he would not elaborate.

The roadshow...will discuss the restructuring of the management model. Which will be planned to be fully in place within 3 years. The plan is called the '' Edison Project'' which is a reinvention of the management structure. This seems to eliminate the mgt position. It will be something like this.. CL-Exa-maybe asst mgt-new position. I guess...soon we will know..

Couple of these posts are very true. My DM told us the same thing. Wait until the roadshows to find out about management restructuring. DM is not allowed to tell before then. Only thing we do know is that new payroll budgets are coming that will make adjustments for revenue loss. Obviously there will be some reduction in hours. Stores will find out at road shows with MVP about the rest. We all wait and see when they address the hiring freeze and the plan going forward.

Speculating and worrying are quite normal during times like these- but honestly kind of pointless. My advice to all of you- is to simply relax- breathe and wait till you're made fully aware of any changes coming. If at that time you are given a reason to worry- do what you must.
To my staff I simply stated- do your jobs- do them well- be the best In the game- and I assure you- you'll have Nothing to worry about. Walgreens doesn't fire the best- never have - never will.

For all that want to know heres the operations layout will remain MVP>DM>CL. And here is the new store layout. SM or Community EXA, MGT and 2STL's. This is unofficial but from very reliable sources. NO ONE WILL BE LAYED OFF but everyone will be placed in a very tough spot. For example, if your an exa and your getting paid 88 hours biweekly salaried, this will be reduced to 80 hours but you will recieve a bigger bonus which will in turn be the same pay but at a different timeline. The STL's will be required to work more than one night a week but no more than three. And the MGT position will become salaried and will be given .And lastly the store manger title will be very coveted and here is why, the role of the exa will become more encompassing, they will literally run the store and the communtiy leader will act as a multi store manager. Thats where the title community exa comes from eventually current store mangers will just become a face. The overall goal is to phase out the store manager role and downsize to a community EXA, one MGT and 2 STL's. Implementation of this plan take up to 5 years it wont be overnight. Again this is unoffical but is from very reliable sources. Here is a very important hint: GO OVER YOUR TMP COMPENTENCY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT GUIDE. It will be the deciding factor in both you pay and position.

A few typing error was that MGT's will be given bonuses. And as far as reductions in the amount of MGT's this will occur as a result of attrittion primarily it will come from not meeting COMPENTENCY expectations, cash handling, ethics, and other various disiplinary issues.

Truth's comment is mostly true! Most SM can be phased out with a strong EXA being overlooked by the CL. The EXA will have an MGT and 2 STL to run the store. The days of most SM just sitting in the office and reading email is about to slowly come to an end. Unofficially- TMP acknowledgement done several weeks ago is going to be very important going forward. The entire management layout will slowly buy surely change!!!

You have to admit this scenerio is sort of contradictory to the other ones that were mentioned here based on "reliable sources". The other one had the SM and EXA perfectly safe while the MGTs were simply done away with in favor of keyholders. Now it's that the SM position isn't safe and the MGT is position is safe (as long as the MGT is a good one and not a slacker). I would have to say however that your (and Truth's) scenerio does make a bit more sense than the other one.
