I wondered if anyone had any information they could share on how the pilot went for the new program which includes daily warehouse orders during the week. I heard that it had been piloted successfully for a year somewhere?

There seem to be some issues so far and I am just curious as to how readily the pilot program could be implemented on a larger scale with a minimum of problems in all areas - from the ordering to the delivery.

I hope it works better than smartfill. That is a complete waste.

If you are talking daily drug order I haven't seen problems except people calling it project gap. Project name is a joke. Reminds me of why tea party partiers dont want to be called tea baggers.

They have it in one of the Milwaukee districts, and when I go to one of their stores, it seems to work. You don't have to vigilant about making sure Cardinal doesn't order generics. It is easier to react to warehouse outs. You get on average about 5 totes a day. However, some days are considered to be major order days, and you will receive a bigger shipment.

I have seen larger orders on some days. It doesn't seem like insulin comes every day. I am just a technician so I am just watching this all play out while I look for something else. Every month has some sort of initiative or promotion and it is just endless. We are busy as heck and still not calling IC3.

If this daily warehouse order for the pharmacy is really called Project Gap, I think they could have thought of something better to name it.

The 10-year deal will allow Walgreen to boost sales of its more expensive specialty drugs, negotiate better prices for low-profit, bulk prescriptions, and start daily distribution on most of its generics.
