If you believe it the ASM pay has been leaked.$17 an hour for 44 hours. 17 being the Max. Again no one has yet cleared up what max means. This is for the NY metro area so a very high cost of living area. Can't say.if the $17 is a local pay or company wide pay. But considering that's far below current MGT pay I see a lot of managers (both mgt and exa) making an exit soon.

Again this is still a rumor but.from a reliable.source.

ASM's are going to be salary, so I find it hard to believe any numbers thrown around on "per hour" basis.

yep, based on a 44hr week that would be 40k per year and is what my manager (also a CL) is speculating. There would also be a small bonus on top of that.

That's like 2/3 of what higher paid EXA's get. Ouch. I wouldn't do it.

So many rumors, 90% of them wrong

Either OP is trolling or someone is pulling his leg

Oh, I heard the DM pay will be $75K a year, and the MVP pay will be $95K a year.

This is a rumor, but I heard it from a very reliable source called my ass

Maybe they are trying to determine the salary range to they can tell the SMs, MGTs, and EXAs in June.

I have not looked at the Field Transformation on Storenet for a while. I seem to remember seeing one of the phases titled "CL Role Transition" from about May-November 2012 on the Transition Plan Timeline but I don't remember any details as to the objective or key milestones for this phase identified. ASM role launch phase was Spring 2013 through December 2013.

If the CL role transition comes first, what does that mean exactly?

The CLs will transition this fall to do the community store visits 60% of the week. CLs will basically be "on the road" Tuesday-Thursday roughly. They have very specific and lengthy things to check over at their community stores in this new transition, no longer just merely a drop-in visit.

So when and how are the CL positions going to be filled? It is May already. I thought SMs have to apply for this position so if one SM gets it, doesn't it mean the the other management positions would all be competing for the ASM positions?

hey, this could be an opportunity for those no it all ex stl's that are now sfl's to move up the ladder quickly...17 an hour is like hitting the lottery to those slackjaws...this should be a lesson to those butt kissing exas working their butts off keeping this boat above water and making the first transition work...haha..payback will be a big kick in the nuts---ouch???--yeah i know there a "female" exas but once you see them, you will know that the reference also applies to them--double ouch--hey, a shout out to all those stellar exas who are always "bragging" about working 60-70 hours---hooray for you!!--these are the same ones always telling everyone how "they are next in line for a store"---yeah, how's it feel now knowing you wasted all those years thinking all that investment was going to have some payback??....at least you can always get a discount on kleenex..sniffle sniffle losers!!!!!!!!!!

I am still fairly new as an AM. I would gladly take the $17/hr. That's $1 more than I make now, so why not? I enjoy my job and don't mind earning my money. Too many people are worried about making the $$$ but not doing the work.

Sense of entitlement snd there would be NO way any exa stays on for that money. They probably will try but ill bet its a scare tactic to get all exas ptcb certified so ehen the sm exodus begins...

I'm not saying that I doubt $40K as the starting line for ASM's, I just doubt the idea that is leaked right now. Seems early, and to have it leaked as an hour rate seems odd.

$35-45K is "industry standards" for assistants, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the salary at all. "Industry standards" is what they're striving for, after all.

Walgreens has treated us very well compensation-wise for many years. I was shocked how well Walgreens treated management when I came aboard four years ago as my previous retailers definitely weren't as nice. Now they're going with the "industry standards" approach. It sucks for us, but it'll suck more for them when they get a management team that's nothing more than "industry standards."

The evidence is piling up that $40k is going to be the number for ASM's. As this is a new role and job title, all current EXA's will be moved to this compensation rate.

WAG is going to try to sell us this pay rate by promising an improved bonus structure. The disparity between ASM and SM bonus will not be as great as it is now.

Oh... salary caps for SM's are also coming. You're going to see a lot of pissed off people when the new compensation plan is unveiled.

Asm will be a revolving door. Sfl will a McJob. Store manager will probably be revolving too. But what I am hearing is cl's aren't thrilled with it either. It's a store ops brain drain and nobody with talent will stay. I guess being in line is what they want. But wait, mark Wagner is the knucklehead that thought this up. No chance In hell that he will be next CEO. I vote for a regional vp in Vegas.....

I was making $18/hr as an MGT before I got promoted. I definitely won't be doing this job for $17/hr!!! I have my degree and I'm sure I can get a job with better hours and that's closed on holidays for that pay!!!

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
