I'm not really following your math. 16/ hr yearly salary is 33280. It's fine for asmt but not for asm.
Multiplying by 2 is a good approximate not an exact figure.

My manager hasn't said anything either. Probably because i told her 3 or 4 times that it is NOT a promotion and there will be NO raise. She seriiously argued with me repeatedly...man it feels so good to be right!

I guess my question is (as I had mentioned, my ex hubby is an EXA in Milwaukee making 60,000 plus without a college degree....my nephew is an assistant manager making about 40,000 with a college degree)....so my ex keeps his high pay (he has already been told that he will be an ASM) and my nephew suffers?

We have several family members working for Walgreens in Pharmacy, front end, store management, and as assistant managers in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. Not understanding why the EXA to ASM transition is so smooth, and assistant managers are getting cut. Or, is my ex's time coming too? My nephew would like an ASM position, and would be happy with the pay.

EXAs get automatically transitioned into ASM(they actually assumed that role April 1st). They keep their current pay. If their current pay is above the maximum for the ASM position, they're capped out with no further raises until the cap goes above their current pay. They're still eligible for bonuses, but it's nothing like what it once was.

MGT's are being treated like their job title more than what they actually did for the store. MGTs were supposed to be nothing more than management trainees, but as Walgreens refused to take care of underperformers and stores stopped opening giving these "trainees" opportunities, they became unofficial assistant managers(even though "unofficial" out name tags read assistant manager lol). With all these changes, Walgreens has reverted back that MGTs are nothing more than Management Trainees. Given how many Management Trainees we have and how few Management Openings we have, they're justifying the downsizing of the position. All current Management Trainees(MGTs) are basically competing with one another for the new ASM-T(Assistant Manager Trainee) position, which we're told is nothing more than a lateral move. Those who survive that transition will basically keep their current pay, while the rest either take a lesser position at less pay, or leave the company altogether. Upon promotion from ASM-T to ASM, the new ASM will start at the starting rate for ASM.

In other words, your ex-husband's job is safe as long as he's performing and he'll keep his current annual salary(although his bonus is changed so that part will be less). Whoever else is related to you as a MGT is having to apply for to retain their job and keep their pay, and if they are selected and move up to the new ASM role, they'll start a rate much less than your ex-husband.

At least working in the pharmacy drive thru has given me experience to operate a McDonald's drive thru with skill someday.
