We got an email yesterday saying Perrysburg has quit shipping CIIs and we are now contracted with Cardinal for all CII deliveries. What's going on up there? I know why Jupiter got shut down -- more of the same?

if it is shutdown, then good.

for too long this company has pushed the "never deny a script" its all about the money.

this is what wags gets, payback. this company should have no business with controls anymore and the updated good faith is too little (or much) too late.

kudos to the dea for shutting this down finally and i hope it is permanent

With regards to Perrysburg, the DEA was not involved. We were told corporate decided it was easier to just stop being a warehouse for C-2s. It is not worth the trouble.

I have heard the real reason why it was shut down and why Cardinal is the supplier, but I am not buying 100%.

It was a vonlentary shut down. Now if Walgreens did it or asked (or forced)by the feds is unknown. With cardinal acting as a distributor and policing us, it seems like there is a lot more to this than we are told.

Is it really that bad to have Cardinal as the distributor? You can order from them every week and it adds an outside 'filter' on orders - right?

Is there any down side to this other than the potential cost savings reduction?

Yeah, there are huge problems. Like Cardinal arbitrarily cutting Walgreens stores off from C2 ordering, which they have already begun. The #1 Walgreens store in one of our midwest markets, was cut off last week by Cardinal and is out of C2's. Cardinal told them they would be by sometime in the future to inspect the store and decide if they can start getting deliveries again.

This is precisely what is wrong with big government. It's actually a good teaching lesson for most of you.

Ahh. I know that several stores in our area have been out of certain specific types and strengths of CII's guess that makes sense.

How can Cardinal decide if a Pharmacy should be 'allowed' to receive CII's again without looking at things protected by HIPPA? Or are they allowed access to that?

Cardinal probably just has a computer report which shows how much C2's a location dispenses in total, or as a percentage of their total scripts. Then their legal advisors tell them they are running a risk of government crackdown. Then Cardinal says "f*ck that" and they shut that pharmacy off until they go out and do an inspection.
