I am a seven year Mgt who hasn't ever been given and EXA interview because I have an associates degree and not a BS. I called out on Thursday, for the first time ever, because I was throwing up all day(I was midshift, no great loss). On Friday, the district administrative assistant called to tell me I need to be at the district office, 55 miles away, to discuss my attendance with the district manager and loss prevention on Monday at 2pm. I asked her why and she stated I have a history of attendance issues. I told her I needed to be at the store at 3pm and I would be late, she said I most likely wouldn't be going back to work after the meeting so it didn't matter. I am calling HR Monday morning to get a representative about unfair treatment and harassment.

If you don't actually have a history of attendance issues then I don't see what the problem would be. Your banked sick days will tell them all they need to know. Also, why would loss prevention be concerned? This doesn't add up at all.

Perhaps they are referring to coming in late / late back from lunch/ leaving early etc. "attendance issues" could be a lot more than sick days.
U should get a verbal , written, final written warning before they fire you, so play it cool at the d.o.

Exactly. Attendance issues don't just pertain to calling off, I've seen employees get disciplined for excessively showing up late or leaving early. And I've also seen a fair share of MGTs who show up five minutes late every day and act like it's no big deal. It went largely unnoticed by the store manager in those instances but I wouldn't be surprised if they're cracking down on it to continue thinning the herd.

Almost all of our managers are late, but none of them take lunches. We also have one or two regular workers who take incredibly long 15 min breaks, hour lunches and even do their shopping during store hours, and I mean walk through the isles for over an hour and browse kind of shopping instead of doing work... seriously, if if wasn't for the uniform, you'd think they were a customer, not someone who worked here.

NONE of them, have gotten into trouble, and I don't expect that they ever will.

I'm never late without calling ahead, have zero write-ups or verbal warnings. I know my DM has been said to be aggressively getting rid of mgt's, but I honestly don't know why other than payroll. My Exa told me today to call a lawyer first thing tomorrow. My sm won't answer the phone or any questions I had about what's going on. I'll keep you updated.

Mr. Spivey wiener, your post is rediculous on many levels.

Why do you assume they are fake? W is cutting staff they are eliminating the long term employees since they have the highest pay. It's all about "business" but at the same time if you are staying you'd better be prepared to have employees who are only there short time, for the pay check and do not care about the quality of their work. Since W no longer considers the employee an important commodity that means lower pay, less benefits and they will demand more work to be done in less time. Customer service, that's a thing of the past. I feel bad for the mgt people who are stuck there, they will beat you down they will demand more and more with less to work with.

This is a common misconception. The absolute best case scenario for Wag would be to KEEP these long term employees at the lower $14/hr rate. Walgreens does NOT want to get rid of anyone. They want experienced hardworking staff working at drastically lower rates. No one wants to hire a bunch of kids off the street for the SFL position.

Well now it appears you are a troll. Of course they don't want to pay the higher wage and are willing to get rid of long term employees to lower their cost. They are getting rid of quite a few here.

this may have been believable up to asst told you you wont be going back to work..they would never allude to anything like that...or the district manager may be mike tomic and he wants to see if your last name is true and wants to spends some time verifying with a taste test???

Sounds bogus, Dm/Lps will visit mgts not the other way around. And why would a dm even involve himself with mgts attendance.
