Im currently a Pharmacy Tech (never have worked out in the store). If I wanted to become an SFL, how would I go about that? Are job postings somewhere on storenet? Also, do asst managers and store managers need college? How much? Im going to be persuing a degree in business management

Stay in Rx. Your pay caps are higher than sfl. But if you really want a SFL spot your SM should be posting local openings by the time clock. if not just ask. a degree will help with trying to get an asmt spot but i really wouldn't recommend retail management as a career. the degree will be unless for anything else.

You will make more money as a technician, but if you're passion is management than definitely pursue it. Go to Walgreens.com and click on the 'current employee' job search. It lists all of the openings at the stores and at corporate. But definitely speak to your DM during hisor next store walk. Just pull them aside and let them know your interests. Most of them will mentor you and help you set am action plan.

go into your training room and submit an SFL application on the computer. your SM will automatically receive an email once its submitted. Let him know you want to be considered for an opening. Also when your CL comes in for a walk, let them know you are interested in the position and maybe you can get moved to a store nearby that has an immediate opening.

like others said, you should stay in the Rx unless managing is something you are really interested in. your background in pharmacy will make you stand out some especially if you have your PTCB certificate

How do you get a pay raise as a technician?

Nowadays, I think the only raise is the annual raise given in the fall. Once you become Sr. Tech, you can apply for district technician positions. Like immunization tech who drives immunization business for your district.
