Does anyone have any interesting or funny stories about this?

Have you ever told a manager to screw themselves?

Ever had an impossible to deal with customer that you just had to tell them to f off?

Let's hear some good ones

Venting is fine, but you are putting your paycheck on the line. Corporate must have a hotline for resolving HR issues that you can call. Retail is only fun if you can laugh it off and not take the bad days home with you. You'll enjoy this, knowing you are not alone notalwaysright.com

Thanks for that link, it's hilarious, but I'm just wondering who has done it and of they have any stories to share. I haven't told anyone off, but it's fun to think about

You might call it telling them off, but I would call it giving them a beat down. Working overnight, a guy tried to rob me with a knife. Working overnight alone, and having a concealed carry license, I obviously carried on the job. He pulled a knife, I pulled a gun, and told him that he should not have brought a knife to a gun fight. Me not wanting to cause serious harm to the guy, just pistol whipped the guy till he was unconcious and then I duck taped his hands, feet, and mouth, and waited till the cops showed up 3 hours later. Best part about it, the only other person who ever knew about it was the night pharmacist. What happens on night shift stays on night shift.

The only problem with that is pistol whipping causes serious injury even if done once, unless you were carrying a zip gun. Actual pistol whipping with a handgun causes fractures, concussion, brain injury, even death, and that's just one hit. IF you pistol whipped him unconscious, you hit him once, and the cops would have known immediately and you'd be in for aggravated assault. You should have just shot him, the legal consequences are less severe. And where were your other employees?

Like I said, I work overnight, with just the pharmacist, I have had to beat down numerous customers who tried to rob the pharmacist. I don't know about in NC, but up here in VA, if you feel threatened, then you can use whatever force necessary to subdue the threat, including lethal force. Aggravated assault???? Give me a break, its called self-defense. What would you do? Just give the guy the money, and hope the guy doesn't take you into the bathroom and kill you for being a witness? This company offers jack for life insurance if you are killed at work. Gotta be smart and protect yourself, since this company won't care if you are gone. It wasn't a zip gun wither, I carry a medium frame revolver in an inside the pants holster, and the old school vest covers it quite nicely.

First I work in the ghetto, my customers act like there on the tv show "Hardcore Pawn". So in turn I act like Les and I have no qualms telling a customer off when THEY DESERVE IT. Normally I will bend over backwards for a customer, but if you come in with a attitude then you can take your ghetto ass back out that door.

I failed this blog posting today. I let the customer tell me off. I guess since I was the only one working the floor and had 4 other calls for mgt help simultaneously I deserved it. I'm glad I didn't tell him rx calls get top priority.

the key to remember is that you are always on camera with no audio.when you do tell them off, do not say it loud, nor appear to be upset as you do this. do not flail your arms, just stand there calmly and speak your mind. the customer will probably overreact, start ranting and look like a wack job..the video will support you that the customer was overreacting and you did nothing to get them this upset..i've done this 3 times in 20+ years and got away with it each time, thanks to the video
