I was wondering

Are other BA's having problems with their pms? It seems that everyday we are seeing that our pms are being messed with, from L'Oreal dropping their percentages to 3% to Merlot being "accidentally" dropped from the system for a while this month.(I personally think we should show L'Oreal what the former pm meant to their business and start leading our cutomers to other products such as Revlon). Is everyone seeing a huge drop in their pms or is it just in our district? And at the same time they have increased the goal more than twice the amount that it was previously! I realize that we are in a recession and that all companies are trying to firm up the bottom line, but you would think that they woudl understand that we do have the ability to make or break a line in our stores because we have a proven track record in promoting products.
What are other teams experiencing now?

i agree. i knew about the loreal going down to 3%. and i was kinda annoyed because that is what we sell the most. our 2 top brands are revlon and loreal and i think that now that loreal is in the top they dont think they need us to promote for them as much. even tho they are a known brand they without us they wont be as big. i think we def can start pulling our customers to another brand. then they will have to listen and return the % back to us

Clueless:
When did they do this in KS? We havent heard anything about it yet, but we dont get much information on these things until they just stop showing up on our reports. They ar cutting out the Cos supervisors jobs for the most part now. There will be one per region. Yes, REGION, not district office. So you can imagine how much help we will have when one supervisor has over 200 stores!

I can tell you that Wichita, KS district is piloting a program for the company in which the SBA is the only cos position left. All the other BA's have been transferred to another position. The whole thought behind this was that the 40+ hours BA's were using could be better used elsewhere or cut from the store completely. The SBA still has some help from SVC's and mgts but just not as much as before. Basically, there is no BA in the dept in the evenings now. It seems to have little effect in the depts.

Yes there are some stores (low volume) that no longer have SBAs or BAs because there is no longer a cosmetic's register/area. The "island" has been taken out. Whether or not these are simply "pilot stores" to check out the new concept is hard to say.

Cos hours will be cut in my district. However they will still have the position. This sucks because the majority of my theft occurs in cos. Without a BA over there I can def. see an increase in shoplifting.

I am hoping that they continue with the Cos. Dept. My store is in an affluent neighborhood, and when the eco hit low, I knew it would only be a matter of time before seeing new faces, I am still seeing new faces. This would not be a wise idea for Wag. to do away with cos. or BA's, especially at this time. I do know that if the cos. dept is left empty for some reason oour female customers get very upset, because they love the knowledge and personal attention we offer them. Hi-end stores offer this, they are use to it and they expect it, and I for one love to give it. If a BA is good at what she does the customer numbers will grow..

The Senior BA advisor at my store spends most of her time on the phone or in the breakroom. If it was up to me I would eliminate her postion and put in a vending machine.

Haha - I've seen the same issue in many different stores. It's really up to your store manager, or you if that is you, to hold her accountable.

Sure wish I had time to sit on the phone in the breakroom ,but with totes, tags , resets 40% red zone goals to keep and the entire store to face at night there is no time to be on the phone...

I have been hearing rumors of a complete axing of cos employees for years. Other drug stores don't have people running their cos areas after all. (Or at least not the ones around here).

If they get rid of BAs they are even more crazy than I thought. Open season for theft. What is happening with new line of Boots? How do they introduce product?

Up until the last um, 2 or 3 years, I was always told in meetings that the pharmacy and the cosmetic dept. was the backbone of Wag. That was the main reason cosmetic people were to stay in their dept.So much has changed.. who knows any more?
