your an EXA. Its an exempt position to overtime. This is what you agreed to when you got hired. If your boss says you work 12 hour days for the same rate of pay. Then you work 12 hour days or go find another job. Its that simple. What is wrong with people. Just an attorney trying to afford his mortgage payment.

Lucky you. Listen, a lot of us knew/know the gig when we signed up. What we didn't sign for was mistreatment and working us to the point where we have no lives. SMs and DMs have taken advantage of through coercion, lies, threats, and favoritism. That needs to end and if it takes a lawsuit, then so be it. For some of us, this job is our only option. It's not easy to find a decent job these days. All we want is fairness and to be paid what we're worth and what we're owed. Don't start a fight needlessly with your dismissals when you have no clue what the rest of us go through. Good luck to you and everyone else.

All this and more - reason why I'm leaving! I miss my benefits already. That was my biggest factor. But everyday I was going to work sad, unhappy and feeling unwell/stressed from the mistreatment, lies and rumors about me. Everyday I wondered if I was going to have a job or not. I finally got sick and tired from the last incident and that's what broke the camel's back. I was done. I am done. They take advantage of people who want to be the best they can be and make their environments better than the next store - I know because I've done it. People have told me they'd rather come to my store because of me not location. There are 3 other locations in a 2-3 mi radius people want to see their people. I hope someone does a general class action - I know I never was never asked if I wanted to do all of the cos wall while the SBA got to relax in Rx since she was a trainee and still is, she cannot fill. I never asked to do all her tasks and I was never offered her pay. I was continuously singled out and I regret being there as long as I was.

This is the kind of garbage I'm talking about. Walgreens USED to a great company because they treated their people well and made efforts to compensate them. Now, they take away hours, demand more, and slash benefits and pay in ADDITION to creating a culture that encourages the bad environment I mentioned in my last post. I signed up to get my own store, not to be treated like garbage. So, as an ASM, of course I'm suing. I hope there's support out there for us and hopefully start to build a momentum to nail Walgreens for what they have done and still do. Thanks Hapless Wag for your input.

Like was said before Walgreens used to care about their employees but that is a thing of the past. I am tired of people saying that we are exempt from overtime as an argument. Come on every year more and more is demanded with fewer and fewer hours gtfoh.

Agreed. Sue them. See my previous posts.
I've been monitoring the discussions about on topix. I am an ASM and I am suing Walgreens. I constantly mention Sanford Law Firm not as a walking ad for them, but to people know that a real law has actually filed a real and legitimate class action lawsuit against Walgreens. This is for real. Please spread the word and help build support this litigation. Thanks.

http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3786781... Looks like this is the model that Walgreens is resorting to with their employees. Glad I'm out this nightmare.

Yes, yes and yes to above posters! It's about time people get pissed and do something. If it means bombarding Wa$$ons office with phone calls. Employee relations. The HOTLINE! I posted that article on Facebook. I post everything negative I can find on Walgreens. Right, Hapless?:).

I realize your post is about more than just my question. Why does it matter if you have to do the cos wall or not by yourself?

It's a general department issue. I never was told, "You're going to do the cosmetics wall, entirely by yourself..." etc. otherwise I'd have probably done less and asked for more help. NO one wants to do the wall, at all! With external mylars, INTERNAL mylars and the pegs, the list goes on, a litany of SH!t basically and I got NO help whatsoever. It took me a whole month because even our overnight SFLs kept ruining stuff and I'd have to fix in the am. No one asked me to "manage" that project. It's NOT MY dept, its the SBA's. She doesn't do a darn thing and I make all the sales. Hell, I make more than she does and her little SFL buddy says "You make more PMs than she does!" well, wanna know why? Because I constantly bring them up in conversations! "Oh, Maybelline is ON SALE, BOGO..." and people wanna be talked to not ignored. Everyone that I talk to think I'm the "manager" of cos because I'm always on the floor, not in the office schmoozing with the ASM or flirting with vendors. I've got work to do, sales to make and PMs to earn. Sorry, its business for me. Not chit chatting. All the grunt work was for me and shes never lifted a finger. She doesn't know product and I know prestige/high end from YSL to Dior and drugstore/mass brands. I KNOW my $h!t and I'm not afraid to let anyone know. I am worth MORE than the x.xx I was getting. I was never praised for any of my doings and constantly saying, "Look at the numbers!" when I was brought on, my store was Dead Last in the district. I became so good I quickly rose to the top in red zones and sales. Just because of my work ethic and making sure basics were done. The only thing I've ever been told to do are shit tasks that she doesn't want to do and I was tired of all the things that didn't get done while I covered her a$$ like ordering and doing periodic counts. So done and that is all. I'm completely devastated, I worked so hard to earn the trust of my clients to lose them. Ugh so pissed!
I was never compensated with her pay and she always had the best shifts and never had to close. If this is not favoritism then I don't know what is!

You're welcome, EXAsm. Unfortunately everything that I've said and written is the truth, I wouldn't be saying or throwing around words lightly. I used to admire Wags and people who worked there. Now, it's just a culture of dog eat dog world. I wish you well on your suit, I hope you get something.

Thank you Hapless Wag. I hope the suit goes well too. What I really is to see if I can mobilize enough support (media coverage, wag people, social media, etc.) for this case. The more support we get for this lawsuit, the more we can leverage against Wag. Once this suit is over, I want to be able to help others in their own cases against Wag (I'm not a lawyer though). Any support is always appreciated. Thanks to all.
