He is now head of operations for international expansion. Wasson said this at the town meeting today. Intresting. The family is back in the company. Looks like wasson time is almost over.

Unfortunately, I think you may be right because why would Walgreens let it spiral down as fast as it has without stepping in earlier?(I do think they'll give him at least a computer and a lan line though.....LOL)

. Cork had wasson do all the work. In a few years when things go well with boots. Wasson will be yanked and Kevin will take credit for the international expansion and will be new CEO. You can take that to the bank. Wasson is not liked by the wag family. They also didn't like mcnally. And look what just happened to him.

LMFAO!!! You are a delusional fool if you believe the Walgreen family has any influence left in the management of the company and Kevin Walgreen will be your knight-in-shining armor to come and save you!

Who does Wasson answer to? The Board. How many Walreen family members are in the Board??? Big fat ZERO

Who does the Board answer to? Stockholders. How much stock does the Walgreen family own? Diddly. 70% of stock is owned by institutional investors, they decide the directors of the Board. And KKR, a private equity firm that's famous for driving profits ruthlessly in their companies (just like Romney's Bain Capital), just appointed one director to the WAG Board as part of the Boots deal. If you think they will let any sentimental fool get near the CEO seat, you are crazy

Kevin Walgreen running international??? that's a nice joke too. Who were in the press and in front of the TV cameras when the deal was announced? Wasson and Wade. Which Walgreens executives got appointed to the Boots Board as part of the deal? Wasson, Wade, the head of M&A, and the General Counsel (Wasson gets to earn some director fees now, isn't that nice?). Notice a name missing? Kevin Walgreen is nowhere on this list

Don't get your hopes up. With the stock price going back up now, the Board love Wasson. Wasson is not going anywhere for 10 years, he'll retire as the CEO of the company

Ummm...wouldn't Wasson have final say on who ends up in any type of Operations position? No reason for Wasson to bring a Kevin Walgreen back into the fold if he felt that his seat as CEO would be threatened by a founding family member down the road.

Believe me,i wish it were true(Wasson is your typical American CEO who is contributing to the destruction of the middle class with his re-wiring/restructuring BS just to get richer himself)....but this is a major REACH.

I would hope that Walgreen will get back on track with Skinner in and Kevin Walgreen
Making the decisions. I feel that both of them will take care of the employees so that they can take care of the customers. I believe that is what Walgreen was founded on.
Just run the best drug stores in the world and get out of all the ancillary businesses.
The time is now to go back to the Walgreen culture the Walgreen family created over the last 100 plus years.

. Your really funny. What planet are you from. The board if directors owns shit. I live in Chicago and I will tell you cork may not be on the board anymore but he owns at least 51% of the shares. And Kevin has another 10%. If you watched the town hall meeting (which you obviously didn't). It showed a picture of wasson and three other wag executives. In London. One was Kevin walgreens. He was introduced in the picture as head of international expansion. Haven't heard from Kevin in 4 years. All of a sudden he's in charge of international expansion? I think cork had a little infuence on this one.

Then why the feck is it taking him and Kevin so long to do anything? Damn octogenarian. And if they are indeed our saviors in shiny armor, shouldn't they be reversing the harmful effects of the Edison Project, or do they not give a damn about the impending forced exodus of MGTs.

no one gives a fig about MGTs but I bet you when they realize the errors of the SFL position they will upgrade the pay a bit. It's alluded to in the FAQs in Field Transformation.

WTF does living in Chicago have to do with knowing Cork owns 51% and Kevin owns 10% stock? Together they have 61%???

It is now confirmed, you are a delusional fool. Walgreens family hasn't had controlling share since the 1960s! The institutions like Vanguard and State Street own nearly 70% of stock. Dont' take my word, take a look at the company website: http://investor.walgreens.com/ownership-profi...

In short, Walgreen family has no say in the direction of the company.

Yes, Kevin Walgreens is a part of the international expansion. But he works for Wasson and Wade. Don't overestimate his influence in the company. Did you know that he was a senior VP of Operations during Rewire? He either agreed with everything that was going on then, or he didn't have the power to do anything. Like he hasn't had the power to do anything the past four years on anything else that's happened. Or he agreed with it all. Take your pick. Either way, he won't save you

This company does not care about store level people, ANYONE, get the hint. Who cares what a field transformation FAQ says, look at the original rewire its is the same gibberish just changed to reflect store employees.
The original rewire was designed to eliminate and reduce positions, guess what, 60% of those who were "eliminated" were placed in NEW jobs with the SAME salary, NEW job meaning a NEW title.
Kevin Walgreen was the SVP at the time, our understanding is he was NOT supportive of that concept.
Bottom line, store level employees will at some point become a thing of the past, look at JC Penny and their plan to implement self checkouts, do you think they will still have 20 cashiers in a store, NO. Once people and customers can think for themselves self checkout will take off everywhere because there is NO NEED for cashiers or whatever other job title this place comes up with.
In closing, NO ONE CARES what you think, feel, say. Get over it, this will not change you got screwed over, stay or go, NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR IT.
